Was ist eine Cluebox?

Die Cluebox ist eine interaktive Rätselbox mit diversen Rätseln und Aufgaben, die nacheinander gelöst werden müssen, um die Box zu öffnen. Anders gesagt, ein Escape Room im handlichen Format! Dabei basiert nichts auf Zufälligkeit, sondern nur auf logischen Entscheidungen. Die Cluebox ist ein Denkspiel, welches nicht nur für eine Menge Rätselspass sorgt, sondern auch als eine einzigartige Geschenkbox verwendet werden kann.

Die Geschichte zu Labyrinth von Cambridge

Zu Beginn des 19. Jahrhunderts gab die Situation um die wissenschaftlichen Entwicklungen im Vereinigten Königreich Anlass zu grosser Besorgnis. "Die Wissenschaft ist in England so gut wie tot... am totesten vielleicht an unseren Universitäten", schrieben englische Journalisten.

Und dann änderte sich die Lage - überall im Vereinigten Königreich begannen die philosophischen Gesellschaften der Provinzen aufzublühen. Sie boten den Menschen die Möglichkeit, sich zu treffen und Vorträge über die neuesten Entdeckungen und Erfindungen zu hören.

William Whewell, ein Historiker und Philosoph der Universität Cambridge, war 1819 einer der Gründer der Cambridge Philosophical Society. Diese Gesellschaft verwandelte schliesslich die grossen englischen Universitäten in die weltweit führenden Zentren der wissenschaftlichen Forschung, wie wir sie heute kennen. Den Begriff "Wissenschaftler" gab es noch nicht, bis William Whewell ihn 1833 prägte.

Verschiedenen zuverlässigen Quellen zufolge gab es nur eine einzige Bedingung, um Mitglied der Philosophischen Gesellschaft zu werden. Um der Gesellschaft beizutreten, mussten die Bewerber den von William Whewell erfundenen mechanischen Kasten "Cambridge Labyrinth" öffnen.

A familiar story, just with…..less.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.
