The world, story, and challenging gameplay remain familiar, but a wealth of new content has been added to explore.

Even for players already familiar with the original Gloomhaven , this edition offers plenty of new features: mercenary classes, items, and scenarios have been rebalanced and redesigned. The game also features all-new artwork, rewritten storylines and events, updated miniatures, a new faction-based reputation system, and much more.

What exactly has changed in the Second Edition?

Scenarios:
32 scenarios have been slightly modified, 36 have been significantly revised, and 14 have been completely reworked. In addition, 14 brand-new scenarios have been added. Only 5 scenarios remain unchanged.

Objects:
Of the existing items, 76 have been modified and 19 have been thoroughly reworked. Forty-three completely new items have been added, while 14 items remain unchanged.

Events:
15 existing events were modified, 163 new events were added and 2 remained the same.

Monsters:
Fourteen samples have undergone minor changes, 20 have undergone significant changes, and two new samples have been added. None of the samples have remained completely unchanged.

Personal missions:
Four missions have been adjusted, eight have been reworked, and six are new. Four personal missions remain unchanged.

And furthermore...
The number of Battle Goals has been expanded from 24 to a whopping 60. Over 120 new story sections have been added outside of the scenarios. The game now features a new faction-based reputation system. Finally, an optional difficulty mechanism has been added.
