The Great Wall is a new asymmetrical worker placement game where you have to build a nice engine and protect yourself against the constantly attacking Mongol Horde.

Players control ancient clans in China as they attempt to defend themselves against invading Mongol hordes while attempting to build The Great Wall. Although every player wants to win, sometimes they must work together to defend themselves against the hordes. Each clan will be asymmetrical due to the chosen leader and this asymmetry will increase as the game progresses due to the choices you make.

The game is divided into four seasons. In the spring, new barbarian hordes invade the fields before the Great Wall and prepare to launch their attack. Summer is the time when generals prepare for attack and mobilize their troops. During the fall, players take turns playing command cards, resolving their effects and activating locations to gain various benefits. In winter, the last layer of defense is activated, after which the hordes try to attack the walls.

Over the course of the game, players create their own unique engines based on their clan strength and interact with other players during all stages of the game, trying to get the most honor points, which can be earned in many different ways.

At the end of the game, the player with the most honor wins.
