Der Smartfoam hat im ungebrauchten Zustand ca. 2 cm Stärke, komprimiert aber durch Gewicht und Wärme auf ca. 1/3 seiner Dicke und bringt den Reiter näher ans Pferd - bei gleichbleibender Druckverteilung.
