„Als Kind wollte ich heimlich Tänzerin werden, aber das durfte ich nicht. Meinem italienischen Vater war es zu unmoralisch, auf der Bühne zu stehen, seinen Körper zu zeigen, das Ganze vielleicht auch noch voller Leidenschaft. Weil ich eine brave Tochter war, studierte ich stattdessen Medizin, nur: Als ich das erste Mal Blut sah, wurde ich ohnmächtig, da wusste ich, dass ich wohl doch besser etwas anderes mache. Darum habe ich Pädagogik und Psychologie studiert. Bei meinem ersten Praktikum im Spital brachte eine Frau ein Kind zur Welt. Von 1000 Neugeborenen haben durchschnittlich zwei das Down-Syndrom. Eines davon wurde genau in dieser Nacht geboren. Und mir wurde die Aufgabe übertragen, die junge Mutter zu fragen, ob sie ihr Kind mit nach Hause nehmen will. Sie wollte es nicht. Nach dieser Nacht konnte ich nicht mehr aufhören, mich selbst zu fragen, was ich in so einer Situation wohl getan hätte.“ Was Katalin Zanin tat? Sie wurde zur Fürsprecherin und gab Menschen, die ihre Bedürfnisse nicht selbst kommunizieren konnten, eine Stimme. Comfortable, Lightweight, and Perfect for Summer
I got these shorts for my husband, and he loves them. The cotton-linen blend is lightweight and breathable, making them perfect for hot weather, vacations, or just relaxing on the weekends.
The elastic waistband and drawstring provide a comfortable fit, and the 7-inch inseam is a great length—not too short and not too long. They look casual but still put together, and the pockets are a nice bonus.
They washed well and held their shape nicely. Overall, these are stylish, comfortable summer shorts that my husband reaches for often. Great value for the price!

Very comfortable and cool shorts

These cotton linen summer shorts are definitely "casual" shorts. Great for around the house, the beach, or hiking. I would not wear them out on a dinner date as they wrinkle quite easily. They are well made and comfortable. The stitching is nice and tight and there are no loose threads, so I feel they are durable. The Medium size was slightly snug, yet comfortable. The sizing chart recommended that I get Large and I think they would have fit better. These shorts are lightweight and keep you nice and cool. I do like that the back pocket has a button to help secure your wallet. The black color looks good with just about anything.
I have a couple of very minor issues, but worth mentioning. The drawstring seems excessively long to me and gets tangled in the wash. Not a major concern, but slightly annoying. The other issue is the button and zipper. These shorts have a sturdy waist band as well as a drawstring, so why have a button and zipper? Possibly for aesthetic purposes?
Overall, these are comfortable shorts that fit well and look good for casual shorts. They will keep you nice and cool. For the price, they are a good buy.

Nice cotton summer shorts with a touch of linen

These are a nice addition to my summer short wardrobe. They add a different look and texture than most of my shorts that are cotton. The addition of linen adds a nice texture to them and you can tell they are visibly unique. I ordered these in a medium and I think they are true to size. The have an elastic top instead of a button/zipper. I'm o.k. with it and they are nice to just throw on. I'm not a fan of the string around the waist. My first picture has it hanging down and I quickly removed it...not needed with the elastic band holding up the shorts. I guess it could be a fashion statement if you wanted it to be. The shorts are very light weight and I can see using them in the hotter months that are approaching. Price point is great!

Comfortable shorts!

I ordered these because I wanted some lightweight comfortable shorts for the summer that were now gym shorts.
These are very comfortable shorts. Lightweight cotton material that is not stretchy and it breathes well. The size fits exactly as expected according to the measurements. They also have an elastic waistband with drawstring, but also have a button and zipper, which I found odd, but don’t hate.
These shorts have two big pockets in the front, large enough for keys and a cell phone. Deep enough to put your entire hand in. The single back pocket is perfect sized for a wallet, and it has a button that secures the pocket, so no losing the wallet in the movie theater or restaurant.
The color is a true black, which I’m sure will fade in the future after many washes, but for now, it is dark and black, not like some that look more navy blue than black. The stitching is also done well.
These are probably my new favorite pair of shorts that are comfy able enough to wear around the house when just lounging, but also nice enough to wear out to dinner. Well worth the price, will probably buy another pair in a different color soon.
