Das Spiel entführt die Spieler in das antike Mesopotamien um 3000 v. Chr., wo sie als Anführer von Dynastien versuchen, in vier Bereichen – Bevölkerung, Religion, Landwirtschaft und Handel – mächtige Königreiche aufzubauen. Durch geschicktes Platzieren von Plättchen auf dem Spielbrett wird das Land besiedelt, Tempel werden besetzt und Monumente belagert, um Siegpunkte zu sammeln.

Das innovative Spiel setzt dabei auf Strategie und Taktik ohne entscheidendes Würfelglück. Jeder Spieler steuert vier Anführerfiguren, die unterschiedliche Bereiche repräsentieren. Erfolgreich ist, wer seine Punkte möglichst gleichmäßig über alle vier Sektoren verteilt, da am Ende die Stärke des schwächsten Bereichs entscheidend für den Sieg ist. Der Spielplan zeigt die Flussläufe von Euphrat und Tigris sowie angrenzende Wüsten und Tempel.

Dieses anspruchsvolle Gesellschaftsspiel eignet sich für einen Spieleabend mit Freunden oder der Familie, die an tiefgründigen Strategie-Runden Spaß haben. Die Spieldauer variiert je nach Spielerfahrung, bietet mit 60 bis 90 Minuten jedoch eine kompakte Spielzeit für ein umfangreiches Spielerlebnis.
