Gemüse, Fisch oder Fleisch können schonend im Saga-Pergament gedämpft oder im Wasserbad gegart werden, so dass alle Vitamine, Mineralstoffe und Aromen erhalten bleiben. Es kann zum Auslegen von Auflaufformen genutzt werden, wodurch sich der Spülbedarf verringert, und ist auch zum Einfrieren von Speisen sehr gut geeignet.
