Dungeon Royale is an entry-level strategy board game that emulates retro handheld console gameplay (and box/board design). Players start with a certain number of lives based on their level in the game. When killed by other players, they spawn again at the beginning as if in a video game. Players have weapons that allow them to attack others on the board in certain positions, but must move strategically as the other players reveal their moves all at the same time. The aim of the game is to escape with the Elixir of Life while completing missions and capturing as many artifacts as possible and earning as many kill points as possible.

Story: The king is dying and has ordered 2-4 heroes to capture the stone of life in a nearby dungeon from his dragon guardian. Only each of the other heroes fights for their own glory and will not be afraid to kill you to capture the stone and other valuable artifacts for themselves. Your goal is to capture the stone yourself, or complete other missions and collect other valuable artifacts to take home.
