Nagahama Single Malt 2020/2023 - 3 y.o. - Lightly Peated Mizunara Cask #1060

Besonderheiten: Die kleinste Whiskybrennerei Japans, gelegen am Ufer des Biwa-Sees, setzt seit 2016 auf handwerkliche Präzision und traditionelle Methoden. Mit den kleinsten Pot Stills des Landes gelingt es, einen vollmundigen und tiefgründigen Malzbrand zu destillieren. Dieser 3-jährige Single Malt reifte vollständig in einem seltenen Mizunara-Eichenfass – ein Holz, das aufgrund seiner besonderen Beschaffenheit für vielschichtige Aromen sorgt. Die Fassnummer 1060 zählt zu nur 409 abgefüllten Flaschen, die mit einer hohen Trinkstärke von 57,8 % vol. abgefüllt wurden.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nase: Sanfte Torfrauchnoten verbunden mit warmen Eichentönen und frischen, grasigen Akzenten.
  • Gaumen: Vollmundig mit Aromen von leicht getoastetem Brot, würzigem Mizunara-Holz und einer dezenten Fruchtsüße.
  • Abgang: Langanhaltend, trocken mit einem Hauch von grünem Tee und zurückhaltender Rauchigkeit.

Destillerie/Abfüller: Die Nagahama Distillery ist eine der jüngsten und kleinsten Brennereien in Japan, gegründet 2016 am Biwa-See. Unter der Leitung von Master Blender Takashi Kiyoi steht die Brennerei für kompromisslose Handwerkskunst und innovative Ansätze in der Whiskyherstellung. Ihr Fokus liegt auf der Erzeugung charakterstarker Single Malts mit japanischem Anspruch, wobei besonders die Arbeit mit durch Mizunara-Eiche geprägten Fässern das Profil prägt.

Hands of Light has been widely recognized as the foundational text merging the Eastern approach to healing through cleansing and balancing a person's chakras and auras with the Western approach to healing through re-tuning a person's electromagnetic frequencies by applying the principles of quantum physics. Barbara's sequel, Light Emerging, further amplifies and extends these concepts. Since her previous book, Barbara set aside her private practice to establish a four-year university-level program to train and accredit healing practitioners to apply these disciplines. This book incorporates the further insights and experiences she gained through developing her School. Light Emerging is written specifically to instruct readers on how to self-heal and to give readers a preview on the commitment required to becoming a healing practitioner. This book is not intended to replace her School's four-year degree in healing. Appendix C offers links to current lists of her practicing graduates, by city and state. There is no duplication between her books. I personally benefited by reading and studying them side by side. I have also called a number of her graduates here in California and confirm they have both the meticulous training and proper motives to follow in Barbara Ann Brennon's footsteps. No fiction here. This book exemplifies the theory and practice of genuine physical, psychological and spiritual healing, either through self-study or through a practitioner.

A very erudite validation of alternative energy healing

I have not got very far in reading since I am reading in parallel Rosalyn Bruyere's "Wheels of Light", but so far find it more accessible than Ms Brennan's first book, "Hands of Light" and this is quite natural since I am not a scientist. But I can't help feeling that in many instances of alternative healing modalities, a personal experience of a natural gift of healing is being made to appear to the general public as a complex and costly necessity for effecting the healing that is a natural propensity of one's body if not hindered by pre-conditioning. Notwithstanding this, I like this book because is speaks to a personal experience of healing energy as subtle sensation/LIGHT which I see as merely awaiting universal acknowledgment that ALL is Light, appearances to the contrary to be shattered by such acknowledgment, and all advances in science that corroborate that fact is welcome.
