Herstellung

Jedes Stück wird von Hand in Italien gefertigt und ist ein Einzelstück von besonderer Qualität, das auf die Tradition der jahrhundertelangen Töpferkunst in Caltagirone, Sizilien zurückweist.

Das Modell wird zunächst auf der Töpferscheibe in Handarbeit gedreht. Danach müssen die Modelle einige Tage trocknen. Erst dann kann die Keramik nachbearbeitet werden - Rundungen werden z.B. noch filigraner ausgearbeitet, der Sockel, der später für die Glasur notwendig ist, wird eingearbeitet und das Produkt mit einem Keramikstempel versehen. Nach diesen aufwendigen Fertigungsschritten wird das Stück zum ersten Mal gebrannt.

Die Aufbringung der Glasur erfolgt in einem zweiten Schritt. Auch nach dem Glasieren muss das Stück ein weiteres Mal gebrannt werden.

Ich verzichte bewusst auf aufwendige Verzierungen. Die Stücke sollen rein durch ihre Form- und Farbgebung wirken und dadurch eine Schlichtheit und Ruhe ausstrahlen.
