Der Nationale Veteranentag ist ein neuer staatlicher Gedenk- und Aktionstag, den der Deutsche Bundestag am 25. April 2024 beschlossen hat. Ab 2025 wird er jedes Jahr am 15. Juni begangen, um allen ehemaligen und aktiven Soldatinnen und Soldaten der Bundeswehr öffentlich Dank und Anerkennung auszusprechen. Im Mittelpunkt stehen ein Bürgerfest vor dem Reichstag in Berlin sowie viele regionale Veranstaltungen, die den Einsatz der Veteranen für Frieden, Freiheit und Demokratie sichtbar machen. Der Tag ist kein gesetzlicher Feiertag – er soll vor allem Wertschätzung fördern und die Belange von Veteranen stärker in Politik und Gesellschaft verankern.
