Diese auffällig buschigen Cortaderia Pflanzen brauchen nur wenig Pflege, außer dem jährlichen Zurückschneiden, das nichts für schwache Nerven ist. Das Pampasgras gedeiht am besten in einem gut durchlässigen Boden in voller Sonne bis Halbschatten. Die Cortaderia wird am besten jährlich gestutzt, um Laubrückstände zu entfernen, die sich sonst ansammeln und das neue Wachstum unterdrücken. Pampasgras ist perfekt zum Trocknen und die Wedel kannst du als Deko benutzen. Eine Win-Win Situation also.

Das Pampasgras zurückschneiden solltest du nicht im Winter oder vor dem Winter tun, sondern lieber nach dem Frost, dann kannst du die Cortaderia bis 5cm über dem Boden abschneiden. Pflanze das Pampasgras zwischen Mai und September und schneide sie Anfang des Frühlings zurück. Das Pampasgras blüht ab Mitte August und die Rispen bleiben danach bis ins nächste Jahr.
