Nach dem 2020 erschienenen EK-Buch über Büssing-Omnibusse bei Bahn und Post widmet sich ein weiterer Band nun den Fahrzeugen der legendären Marke mit dem Symbol des Ulmer Münsters im Dienst bei den beiden großen staatlichen Omnibusunternehmen. Seit dem Jahr 1919 zählte Magirus zu den bekannten Omnibusherstellern in Deutschland. Sowohl Reichspost und Reichsbahn wie später auch Bundespost und Bundesbahn zählten zu den Großabnehmern der gelben und roten Überlandbusse, die ab 1956 aus dem Werk in Mainz kamen und vor allem in West- und Süddeutschland zum Einsatz gelangten. Die soliden, luftgekühlten „Deutschen Bullen“ wurden bis zur Werksschließung Ende 1982 in mehreren Hundert Exemplaren an Bahn und Post ausgeliefert. Auch einige Privatbahnen setzten bevorzugt Omnibusse von Magirus ein.
Das neue EK-Buch gibt einen reich bebilderten Überblick über Typen, Einsätze und Besonderheiten dieser Fahrzeuge bei Bahn und Post, die auch den ab 1971/72 gebauten Standard-Überlandlinienbus mit einschließen.

Delightful text, but the omissions are frustrating
Format: Paperback
The modern spellings of the original Middle English text make this book quite easy and fun to read. However if you're trying to follow the actual complete storyline or compare it side-by-side with one of the original full text versions the frequent omissions quickly become quite evident and frustrating as you realize just how abridged this version actually is. That being said, the foot-of-page glossary and explanatory notes are quite helpful and informative. If only they wouldn't have left so much of the text out this would be a five-star review.

Simple and easy to read
Format: Paperback
If you are looking to just understand Le Morte, this is a good book. It's written in modern English, due to the fact the author decided he wanted it to mirror the Winchester manuscript as closely as possible, that is, he wanted it to be written in the most easily accessible language of the time. Therefore, the Oxford edition of Le Morte is less bogged down in old spellings and archaic language as other versions of the text.
