Erste LP-Reissue des von Brian Eno produzierten John Cale-Albums 'Words For The Dying', das 1989 auf Opal erschien. Es besteht hauptsächlich aus von Cale gelesenen oder gesungenen Werken, wurde 1982 als Reaktion auf den Falklandkrieg geschrieben und basiert auf Gedichten des walisischen Landsmanns Dylan Thomas. Ursprünglich 1987 live für das niederländische Fernsehen im Paradiso, Amsterdam aufgeführt, wurde die Studioversion schließlich teils in der UdSSR mit dem Orchester für Symphonie und Popmusik von Gostelradio aufgenommen. Neben 'The Falklands Suite' gibt es zwei Orchestereinlagen, zwei Solo-Klavierstücke, 'Songs Without Words' und schließlich 'The Soul Of Carmen Miranda' mit Cales Stimme und einem minimalen elektronischen Begleittrack. Das Album wurde in Moskau, New York, London und Suffolk, England, aufgenommen. Ltd. Auflage auf klarem Vinyl.
