Der legendäre Downhill- und Enduroreifen präsentiert sich in einer neuen, weiterentwickelten Generation, die sowohl optisch als auch technisch überzeugt. Mit einem überarbeiteten Label-Design erhält der Reifen nicht nur ein modernes Erscheinungsbild, sondern unterstreicht auch seinen Anspruch als High-Performance-Produkt für anspruchsvolle Fahrerinnen und Fahrer.

Besonders hervorzuheben sind die neuen Karkassen-Konstruktionen, die in Kombination mit dem innovativen Ultra Soft Compound für ein noch besseres Fahrgefühl sorgen. Diese Weiterentwicklungen ermöglichen eine optimale Anpassung an den Untergrund, erhöhen die Kontrolle in technisch anspruchsvollem Gelände und verbessern gleichzeitig den Grip unter verschiedensten Bedingungen. Damit wird der Reifen den hohen Anforderungen im Downhill- und Enduro-Bereich mehr als gerecht.

Aufgrund der großen Nachfrage wurden zudem zusätzliche Radial-Versionen eingeführt. Die Größen 63-584 und 63-622 sind nun auch mit einer glatten Seitenwand erhältlich, ohne dabei Kompromisse bei der Performance oder beim bewährten Seitenwandschutz einzugehen. Diese Weiterentwicklung zeigt, wie konsequent auf die Bedürfnisse der Community eingegangen wird.

Ein weiterer wichtiger Aspekt ist die nachhaltigere Produktion. Der Reifen wird unter anderem mit recyceltem Ruß (rCB) hergestellt, der aus dem eigenen Reifenrecyclingprozess stammt. Dies stellt einen bedeutenden Schritt in Richtung umweltfreundlicherer Fertigung dar, auch wenn das Ultra Soft Compound hiervon ausgenommen ist.

In der PRO-Version geht der Hersteller noch einen Schritt weiter: Hier kommt fair gehandelter Naturkautschuk zum Einsatz, der im Rahmen des Fair Rubber-Programms bezogen wird. Damit verbindet der Reifen höchste Performance mit einem verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit Ressourcen und fairen Produktionsbedingungen.

I’ve played with quite a few different pickleballs over the past couple of years, including several cheaper “no-name” brands, and these Franklin X-40 balls consistently perform better for me. The biggest difference is durability. These seem to hold up much better to hard hits and regular outdoor play without cracking as quickly as many lower-cost balls I’ve tried. Even after multiple games, they maintain their shape and playability better than most bargain options. I also really like the bright optic yellow color. They’re easy to track during fast rallies and remain very visible in different lighting conditions, which makes a noticeable difference during competitive games. Performance-wise, they have a very consistent feel and bounce. There’s a reason these are used so widely in organized play and tournaments—they simply play reliably from game to game. While they may cost a little more than generic brands, I’ve actually found them to be a better value over time because they last longer and don’t need replacing nearly as often. Overall, these are my go-to outdoor pickleballs now. Durable, highly visible, and consistent on the court. Definitely worth it if you play regularly.

Great Outdoor Pickleballs for Practice and Games
