Gleich zweimal durfte das Team Schubert Motorsport in der DTM Saison 2022 am Ende jubeln: nachdem sich der Rennstall bereits vor dem letzten Rennen den Teamtitel gesichert hatte, wurde es im abschließenden Rennen in Hockenheim noch einmal spannend. Nach einem Massencrash konnten nur 12 Fahrzeuge ins abschließende Rennen starten, unter dieser Konkurrenz fuhr der Südafrikaner Sheldon van der Linde auf den dritten Platz – und holte so die Trophäe des DTM Champions 2022.

Beim Kampf um die Krone der DTM Saison 2022 war es zwischen Sheldon van der Linde, Marco Wittmann und René Rast bis zum letzten Tag spannend, wer beim heimischen Rennen den Titel einheimst entscheidet einzig ihr am Handregler.
