Tohorā Yakisugi Pod 2, #5Original, hand made whale sculpture. Made from Redwood and left to age outside in the elements for a year then cut on the bandsaw and assembled. Lumber is burnt then scrubbed to reveal deep grain and give a charcoal black colouring. The Tohor is sealed with a generous coating of linseed oil then a coating of bees wax is applied to help protect and nourish the wood. For indoor and outdoor use. Because of the burning the wood is protected for outdoor

The Tohorā is sealed with a generous coating of linseed oil then a coating of bees wax is applied to help protect and nourish the wood.

For indoor and outdoor use. Because of the burning the wood is protected for outdoor conditions. 

Care: the sculptures has undergone intense burning and can be quite fragile. Care should be taken when handling. Items can be recoated with linseed oil and bees wax applied with a lint free rag.
