Reproduction of After the Storm I by Chris Paschke

Chris Paschke — "After the Storm I" is a compelling example of contemporary abstract landscape painting that synthesizes elements of post-minimalist abstraction with a deeply meditative approach to color and form. The work aligns with a broader trend in late 20th and early 21st-century art that seeks to evoke emotional and psychological states through atmospheric tonal gradations rather than literal representation. Paschke’s composition is characterized by a masterful use of negative space, which dominates the visual field and evokes a sense of vastness and stillness. The horizontal band of textured charcoal gray, suggestive of a storm-laden horizon, is balanced by a luminous, almost ethereal line of gold that traverses the canvas, functioning as both a literal and metaphorical break between the turbulent and the tranquil. This line, rendered with a subtle, tactile quality, suggests a fragile threshold or a path of light emerging from darkness. Below, a soft gradient of rose quartz introduces a delicate warmth, creating a subtle contrast with the cool grays above. The artist’s technique, likely employing watercolor and ink, allows for a range of tonal nuance and a sense of organic fluidity that enhances the work’s contemplative mood. Compositionally, the piece adheres to a centered minimal structure, emphasizing balance and restraint, while the limited palette and low contrast contribute to its overall sense of harmony and understated elegance. In its quiet intensity and symbolic resonance, "After the Storm I" can be situated within a lineage of abstract works that explore themes of transformation and renewal, echoing the spiritual and meditative qualities found in both Eastern ink painting traditions and Western minimalist aesthetics. The work invites viewers to engage in a visual and emotional journey, where the interplay of light, shadow, and color becomes a meditation on the cyclical nature of existence.

it caused a fight
Color: Gold, Size: X-Large
I completely mis-read the room.... I got this jacket as a White Elephant gag gift for our Christmas party. I thought it would be funny to see some 50-60 year old conservative dude open this up. There is nothing subtle about this jacket. It's bright. It's flashy. It's bold. The guys fought over it. It was the most stolen gift of the night. When the first guy opened it, the whole party stopped for a minute while he proudly tried it on and everyone took pictures. And each time it was stolen, the same thing happened. The loser moped. The winner boasted. It was not at all the reaction I expected from this group - it was awesome! And to top it off, a couple months later another guy in the group "borrowed" the jacket and wore it for his wedding. His wife - also part of our group - absolutely loved it! He has no plans to return the jacket to any of the previous owners. Don't be surprised if you see a sparkling flash of light in the stands at a Vanderbilt basketball game! Their colors are black/gold, so he's going to make full use of the blazer! Aside from making a great story for all of us, this jacket is very well made. The sequins are firmly attached. The sleeves are the right length, etc. It's comfortable to wear and the sizing feels accurate. I was expecting a "costume" piece, but actually got a quality blazer.

Quite good for costume quality
Color: Gold, Size: Medium
For eighty bucks this definitely isn't bad. It arrived slightly out of shape but after a few days on a good hanger, it all fell into place. I had no issues with fit--the medium wears as expected (6', 38" chest). It's a fun jacket, it's not far off from the product photos, and it certainly makes an impression. While it doesn't feel 'premium' per se, it doesn't feel cheap either. The liner is solid enough that the sequins don't feel too scratchy or restrictive. Definitely a niche item--certainly more of a costume piece than something you'd wear to make a bold impression at a formal event, and while not inexpensive, it delivers for the price and I don't think you could do much better for $80.

Very stylish & tailored fit
Size: Small, Color: Pink
My husband purchased this suit as a “flower-bro” at my sister’s wedding. Unfortunately the color theme for the wedding was changed so he had to change it out which I was sad about because it fit him very well and looked great! The quality was good and the fit looked tailored.
