The Dunhill AD2000 Sterling Silver Fountain Pen is a refined example of late-20th-century luxury writing design, combining Dunhill’s understated British elegance with exceptional Japanese writing performance. Introduced as part of Dunhill’s AD2000 line, the model was produced with Pilot-made nib and filling components in Japan, while the body was made in Switzerland for Dunhill.

Crafted in 925 sterling silver, this version presents a sleek, architectural profile with a substantial yet balanced feel in the hand. The sterling silver body gives the pen a quiet brilliance—luxurious without being overly ornate—while the clean lines and finely detailed surface treatment reflect Dunhill’s classic approach to modern design. A similar sterling silver AD2000 reference, NY116, is documented with an 18kt gold nib, medium nib size, and a length of approximately 15 cm.

The AD2000 is especially appealing to collectors because of its technical partnership with Pilot/Namiki. Known examples use a Pilot-style cartridge/converter system, with some fitted with a Dunhill-branded Pilot CON-70 style button converter. Peyton Street Pens notes that the AD2000 nib was made by Pilot in Japan and describes the 18k nib as springy, with the model launched in 1997.

This pen offers the best of both worlds: the presence and precious-metal craftsmanship of a Dunhill luxury object, paired with the smooth and reliable writing character associated with Pilot’s high-grade nibs. For collectors of Dunhill, Pilot/Namiki collaborations, or sterling silver writing instruments, the AD2000 stands as a distinctive and increasingly uncommon piece.

Lots of squeakers in this one!
Color: Gator, Size: Large
Our rescue dog is a power chewer so this one doesn't last long, but I still gave 5 stars because it's not advertised for power chewers, so I knew what we were getting when we bought it. So why did I buy this for our dog? The number of squeakers... the dog goes nuts for those and it makes the toy last longer because she will only play with the ones that still squeak.

NOT for aggressive chewers!
Color: Lion, Size: Medium
My aggressive chewer had destroyed this in 3 minutes! Chewed off the ears, and chewed apart the body to try to get to the squeaker - it was in the trash 5 minutes after I gave it to him! Yes, the seams are tough, but he easily chewed around them. Don’t buy this if your dog is an aggressive chewer!

Somewhat durable.
Color: Elephant, Size: Small
My dog loves these toys, I think it's the squeaker. I've tried several and this elephant one holds up the best.

Not tough enough
Color: Elephant, Size: Small
It might be tough, but my 26 pound dog managed to rip it open in record time! The only good thing, the squeaker is a long plastic one and easier to grab before she can swallow it!

Cute and tough!
Color: Elephant, Size: Small
Update Dec 2025, still going! This toy has been the subject of much squeaking and death shakes... And more than one tug o' war... And other than looking a little dingy even after washing it's as good as new! No missing bits, no noticeable damage. I have several in the brand, both the larger version for my mastiff, and other styles for the medium-sized dogs. I started buying online because the one store that carries it moved further away. Outshines all other brands I've tried for durability and fun play. In 5years and 9 dogs only 2 have needed replacement. Worth the price!!!
