General Finishes Gel Stain is the home of the popular Java Gel Stain, a favorite among DIY enthusiasts. Its thick consistency allows for easy application without drips or runs, making it perfect for vertical surfaces. Unlike liquid stains, this gel formula doesn't penetrate as deeply into the wood, resulting in more consistent color and easier color matching.

For best results, apply 1+ coats depending on desired color intensity. Dry time varies: 8+ hours for raw wood (touch), 12-24+ hours for recoating on raw wood. When applying over existing finishes, allow 12-24+ hours for touch dry and 72+ hours before recoating. A topcoat is required for durability. Note: This product is not sprayable and should only be used for interior projects.
