Full bodied, rich, classy. Chocolate, intense black forest fruits, licorice, subtle mint leaf. Ripe red berry fruits come to the fore in this wine, which then balances with a velvety chocolate note on the palate and a long structured finish of red fruit laced with oak and the persistence of supple tannins. Drink now or cellar confidently for up to 10 years from vintage.

Prior to the 2020 vintage, the decision to replant certain blocks within our Nuriootpa vineyard meant taking out a small block of Cabernet Sauvignon. Our two main blocks which deliver the vibrancy and weight for this Cabernet Sauvignon remain, and the season allowed for decent ripening and flavour from our Eden Valley fruit, giving freshness and balance to an otherwise very structured wine, given the dry season and low yields experienced. There is also a very small volume of our 1960s-planted Greenock fruit in this blend. Each of our estate vineyards ripen differently owing to their varying aspects, elevation and soil types. We have also added a parcel of fruit from a neighbouring vineyard to complement our small 2020 yields.

The 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon is a structured yet fragrant wine. In a similar fashion to 2019, yields were low and the season was dry without being too hot. This resulted in small berries with intense flavour and ample tannin ripeness for extraction. Careful cap management to enhance fruit, and not overpower with tannin, has resulted in this having a lovely, vibrant, leafy note balanced with stern tannins to drive the finish on the wine. There is a lovely delicate oak note to the palate giving a little sweetness and balance to the fruit with that power of tan-nin on the finish. The 2020 Cabernet was pressed from open fermenter to a combination of new and seasoned French oak for malolactic fermentation and further maturation for the following year. We carefully blended the parcels from our three sites to achieve the best balance.

The Ashmead family purchased their first estate vineyard in the middle of Nuriootpa in the late 1970s and since making their first wine from the 1982 vintage, have developed a great reputation and an enviable history of success. The 1992 Cabernet Sauvignon won the prestigious Jimmy Watson Memorial Trophy in 1993, showcasing Elderton’s ability to make great Cabernet. Second generation brothers, Cameron and Allister, have since purchased two other exceptional vineyards in the east and west of the Barossa, with fruit from all three vineyards blended to make this 2020 Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon.

Breaking it down
Format: Hardcover
The authors do an excellent job of breaking the Bible down and explaining it in a way I have not read before. It is sectioned out starting with Genesis and rolling through the books breaking down the main points of each one. It displays how each builds on each other and uses a unique approach to categorizing each book or books.

Very appropriate level of detail
Format: Paperback
New to orthopedics? This book is a must have! The pictures are simple, yet contain enough detail to learn information needed to perform at a professional level. The book does a great job at stepping through the anatomy. It hits all the major conditions and does so in a way that is very easy to understand and retain. Highly recommend this book!

Concise, broad, and conceptual overview
Format: Paperback
I read this book before my first Orthopaedic rotation as a fourth year medical student and it was a superb introduction to Orthopaedic Surgery. It is very concise and well written, and introduces key concepts and fundamental principles of Orthopaedics. As most medical students know, the best learning on clerkships comes from reading about clinical situations as they come up in real life. That said, its always helpful to have a brief introduction to the field before beginning a rotation and I thought this book had the breadth and focus on concepts to be a perfect introductory read since my medical school has little to no coverage of common MSK conditions in the curriculum. More depth can always be found on Orthobullets and in textbooks and the primary literature, but it's helpful to have a broad overview to start out.

Amazing review but falls short in comprehensiveness
Format: Paperback
Felt lost while going into Ortho Sub-Is, but this book was a great quick review before going into them. It served well to give context to the field, but definitely not enough for a thorough review for sub-Is. If you are not in medical school, this book might be more apt for you. Overall, love the cartoon and definitely helped me some questions right on intense pimp sessions.

Med school orthopedics (basic orthopedics) presented in an easy to understand format.
Format: Paperback
This book is well written and easy to follow. I'm a fan of this publishers "Clinical Pathology Made Ridiculously Simple," and I found this book to be similar in presentation. This is a good book for Medical and PA students during their orthopedic didactic curriculum, and as a review before an orthopedic rotation, but it's a little too basic to be the only book you read during your orthopedic clerkship (for clerkship, I recommend also reading Case Files Orthopaedic Surgery). This is a good book to review orthopedic concepts for board exams. It's also a good book for primary care residents and primary care mid-level providers who want to brush up on ortho.
