Overview

The Stellar Reserve label is the purest expression of Riversdale. This label is only made when the grape quality exceeds the higher echelons of expression, identity and unique character. This is a small batch label made from the specific viticultural & winemaking techniques that enable a complete reflection of the Estate and its unique terroir.

Grape Variety 100% Pinot Noir

Vintage Conditions

Growing season was moderate to cool with perfect fruit set conditions. Summer was moderate to cool and conditions very good for fruit ripening. Vintage was fairly condensed due to good sunlight hours and moderate warm days which sped up ripening. Southern Tasmania was also hit hard by bush fires and the coal river valley
was lucky enough to escape these conditions whilst some of our friends were not as lucky.

Wine-making

The wine was aged in French oak barriques for 16months before being rack and bottled unfiltered and UN-fined. Wine spent 20months in bottle before release.

Tasting Note

Dark berry and plum with spicy oak and cloves on the nose. the palate succulent and plush with good weight and density of fruit and generous tannin's. Long finish
with lingering silky tannin.
