Auto-Line Drill GuideThe Auto Line Drill Guide keeps your drill bit perfectly perpendicular while you drill and has a versatile base and fence system that makes it simple to maintain the precise placement of your hole. Constructed with a high quality 1 2" chuck supported by a pair of sealed ball bearings, the shaft end is a standard quick release fitting that will fit any cordless or corded drill. Constructed with a high-quality 1/2" chuck supported by a pair of sealed ball bearings, the shaft end is a standard quick-release fitting that will fit any cordless or corded drill. The chuck carrier has a pair of Teflon® sleeves that ride on two steel columns— one column has a spring to help you control your cut and the other has an adjustable stop collar. They work together to keep the chuck perfectly vertical while you drill. Because the stop collar column has a taper milled into it, it needs only fingertip pressure to hold position and is nearly impossible to knock out of position once tightened.
The base of the guide has laser-engraved centerlines on the perimeter of the opening. Just align the bright white index marks with the witness marks on your stock for precise placement of your hole. To safely drill round stock, it features a V-groove milled into the base. The opening in the base has clearance for drills up to 3/4". For larger holes up to 2", simply remove the column caps, and turn the chuck carrier around so it is outside the base.
For centering holes on a board, mount the centering pins in the base and rotate until one pin is tight against each side. It works on stock up to 3-1/8" wide. For convenience, the centering pins are stored on the top of the base when not in use and an Allen wrench tip is machined into the bottom of the lock knobs.
The versatile fence adjusts to the base along a pair of steel guide rods on all four edges so it can slide in any direction. This allows you to work close to the edge, or it can be turned around to get the maximum distance. When you’re working on a narrow edge, the fence can be positioned so the broad face provides extra support. For situations when you’re not using the fence, the guide can be turned so the thin edge provides an “outrigger” to improve stability.
Like all Woodpeckers products, the Auto-Line™ Drill Guide is proudly machined and carefully inspected in the Strongsville, OH facility, just south of Cleveland.
Not recommended to be used with an impact driver.
