The Italian leather that we use for the collars and leashes is a veg-tanned leather from Tuscany. I wax the leather before shipping it to you. I sell the small tins of Smith's Leather Balm on the site if you want to have it on hand. I hand sew and rivet the leather over the biothane for a safe and secure collar. They are handstitched with matching Ritza Tiger thread renowned worldwide for its strength and durability.
The brass hardware is rustproof. It is a beautiful flashy, good-looking, heavily constructed collar that will last you a lifetime.

So what is BioThane?? It is a coated webbing made in the US. It is available in many vibrant colors and is more durable, stronger than leather, and is waterproof and easily cleaned. It has been used in the saddlery trade in England for halters, bridles, and reins for many years and is now available in the US. A customer pointed out that even though it is not reflective, it may be more visible to drivers when walking along roads.
All collars have 5 holes spaced 3/4" apart. If you order an 18" collar, for instance, it will measure 18" from where the leather starts at the buckle to the middle hole. If you'd like help measuring please message me!
