INSTALLATION
The barb measures approximately 3.25mm wide and I would probably start with a 2.5mm bit and if it was too tight you could do a second pass with the cutter.
Other option is to use a 3mm or 3.5mm cutter and to glue the handle into the groove with a hybrid adhesive like HB Fuller Toolbox or similar.
