FAQs

Question

Answer

Why do I need Good as Gold?

Studies show that turmeric can inhibit inflammationease joint pain, help protect against neurodegeneration, and alleviate migraines. Curcumin, the active ingredient found in turmeric, is also a powerful antioxidant.

What does Good as Gold do?

Good as Gold is a blend of ayurvedic herbs and ingredients intended to help fortify your immune system and boost your diet with antioxidants.

Does turmeric help with inflammation?

Numerous studies have shown turmeric to be a possible therapy in treating inflammatory diseases, such as arthritis, pancreatitis, and irritable bowel diseases. Turmeric’s active ingredient, curcumin, interrupts the biological pathway to inflammation by blocking NF-kB, a molecule that activates genes linked to inflammation. Curcumin has also been shown to be as effective and safe as Ibuprofen in treating osteoarthritis [1].

What is an Ayurvedic herb?

Ayurvedic herbs hail from Ayurvedic medicine, which is considered to be the world’s oldest holistic healthcare and a traditional Hindu system of medicine. Ayurvedic medicine is based on the idea of balance in bodily systems and uses diet, herbal treatment, and yogic breathing. We’ve chosen to include ashwagandha, turmeric, reishi mushroom, and ginger - ingredients that are well known to ayurvedic practitioners.

What is Ashwagandha?

Ashwagandha is an herb used in Ayurvedic culture that has traditionally been used in medicine as an adaptogen. (A more well known example of an adaptogen is ginseng.) Adaptogens have traditionally been used to promote stress relief and help the body cope with stress, especially long-term, by amending hormone imbalances that occur during stressful times.

Ashwagandha has been shown to help improve memory and cognitive function, which can be especially valuable as we age. Some studies show that ashwagandha may help protect against the onset of neurodegenerative diseases like Huntington’s and Parkinson’s.

How do I take it?

We prefer Good as Gold blended with a cup of warm, plant-based milk. It also tastes great shaken with cold milk or water, or tossed into your favorite smoothie. We recommend:

  1. Put the powder in a mug/cup
  2. Add a small amount of hot water and mix to create a thick paste
  3. Add warm milk (we recommend using a plant-based milk like coconut, cashew or almond)
  4. Top with cinnamon and add maple syrup as a sweetener if you like your lattes on the sweeter side!

When do I take it?

Take your turmeric powder at anytime of the day. We recommend snuggling up on the couch with a cuppa while you watch your favorite TV show or read that book you can’t put down.

How much do I take?

Add one scoop (included in your bottle) into your favorite beverage and shake to blend. Drink once a day around mealtime. Feel free to adjust your serving size based on how much turmeric you’d like on a daily basis.

Is Good as Gold safe for breastfeeding?

While we always recommend that you consult your doctor before taking turmeric during breastfeeding, Good as Gold can provide anti-inflammatory benefits for nursing mothers. One study found that curcumin applied topically helped reduce inflammation in women with lactational mastitis.

Is Good as Gold safe for pregnancy?

While turmeric can provide a number of benefits to pregnant women (like lowering inflammation), there is not enough evidence to recommend for or against it at this time. While it’s generally safe to consume turmeric in small amounts, we recommend you consult your doctor before taking Good as Gold during your pregnancy. Additionally, be sure to mention that Good as Gold contains adaptogens. Some advise against the use of herbal supplements during pregnancy. Your doctor will be better able to advise you on this.

Is Good as Gold safe for kids?

While turmeric is generally considered a safe supplement, researchers have not studied the effects of turmeric on children. For that reason, we recommend that you consult your pediatrician before making Good as Gold a part of your little one’s routine.

What is the difference between curcumin and turmeric?

Turmeric is a spice that comes from the turmeric root. Curcumin is the active ingredient found in turmeric. Curcumin is what gives turmeric its vibrant orange color along with numerous health benefits.

Can I take too much of this?

While the scientific community doesn’t recognize a standard upper limit, you should always be cognizant of your turmeric dose. Curcumin can interfere with your body’s ability to absorb iron. When taking turmeric, those who are iron deficient should take care to monitor their blood work and consult their doctor about an appropriate dose.

Why do these turmeric tablets include black pepper?

Black pepper contains a compound known as piperine (this same compound is responsible for the pungent, spicy flavor we associate with black pepper). Piperine, when consumed with turmeric, boosts curcumin absorption and bioavailability by up to 2000%. So, we’ve included black pepper in our turmeric tablets to ensure that your body better absorbs the curcuminoids.

Who should take Good as Gold?

Turmeric’s anti-inflammatory properties can benefit people of all ages because inflammation plays a major role in diseases, illnesses, and injuries. Turmeric is a natural, holistic way to treat inflammation on the cellular level to help prevent a multitude of chronic diseases and antioxidants to help prevent cancer.

What’s the difference between your Turmeric powder and Turmeric tablets?

You’re Golden, our Turmeric tablets, has just two ingredients: Turmeric and Black Pepper. Good as Gold, our Turmeric powder, has a few more ingredients, including coconut milk, Ashwagandha root, reishi mushroom, and ginger root. These additional ingredients offer a natural way to relieve stress, fortify your immune system and also create a delicious golden milk latte.

For those who want to take their turmeric quickly, the tablets are a convenient option. For those who like to sip on a delicious cup of golden milk, the powder is your product.

Is there caffeine in Good as Gold?

There is no caffeine in Good as Gold, but there are naturally occurring B vitamins in Reishi Mushroom which could lead to a moderate energy boost.

Knot their Omega
Format: Kindle
It took me a day to really get into the book, there is a lot happening in the beginning of the story. I wish there was more of a time frame because I felt like something’s happened quickly but they were farther away than I thought so that was a little confusing to me. I felt like there was so much happening but also not enough. As for the story itself I enjoyed it, it was different than other OV I’ve read. Bring the tissues, you will need them. They guys were great, I wish we saw more of Kai and Kenjis relationship. As for Nate…… IYKYK. I enjoyed this book, my first from this author and look forward to reading about Kamaris story. Book: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Spice: 🌶️.5/5

Has Potential, Poorly Executed
Format: Kindle
I really really wanted to enjoy this book and was looking forward to reading it. However there were just one too many convoluted plot points, sentences just did not flow nicely at times, and I was left with a lot of confusion on my end. I think it has the bones of being a great story but seems like it was rushed and I had to push myself to finish the last of the book and was left with an unsatisfying ending. It’s definitely different from other omegaverse novels I’ve read but not for good reasons. I really think it could be great but needs some serious tweaking and editing before I’d read it again.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.
