About the work

To coincide with his work on display in The London Open 2015, the Whitechapel Gallery’s triennial open submission exhibition from 15 July–6 September 2015, Damien Meade has created two series’ of unique inkjet prints. Taking as their source his manipulated photographs, Meade introduces an ambiguity to a format which is typically used to make perfect reproductions. By tampering with the inkjet process, each image is made unstable and subject to chance, creating a diversity of variations in surface and effect. Through the process, the represented objects take on an element of ambivalence, oscillating between lifeless and sentient figures, object and subject.

About the artist

Damien Meade, born in Ireland, is known for his paintings which are the culmination of a layered studio-based process. He makes forms from clay and other materials and uses them as props for his paintings. The final works are often paintings of photographs of sculptures of drawings. His work shifts between the genres of still life, portraiture, landscape and abstraction. An interest in the animate and inanimate runs throughout his work, as does a curiosity with the uneasy relationship between objects and desire.

Damien Meade lives and works in London.

Decent watch if you can buy cheap
Color: Brown/Digital/Brown
Watch is pretty light weight and flimsy feeling. The indiglo is barely there. Nice looking with decent screen and readability. Wouldn't pay much more than $30 for this watch. Cheap Casios outdoo this easily.
