Akatsu ware is a traditional pottery style originating from Akatsu Town in Seto, Aichi Prefecture, recognized as one of Japan's Six Ancient Kilns. The Rokubei Pottery Studio, a historic kiln known for producing Akatsu ware, was founded in 1742. Today, it is led by Daigo Kato, the studio’s 27th-generation master craftsman.

Kiseto is a variety of Mino ware distinguished by its yellow ash glaze, originating from Mino (modern-day Gifu Prefecture) during the Momoyama period. Its appeal is found in the copper-green speckles, carved lines, and stamped motifs decorating the glaze, which together convey a refined and tranquil aesthetic.
