Emma's words....
I created this painting after giving birth to my first and only child Noah, after a long time trying to conceive through IVF my baby boy was a miracle child. Who I am sure was gifted to me somehow after losing my Mum a few months before he was 'created'
This painting represents the pure love which a mother provides and feels deep down in her soul. The unconditional love and care which I was lucky to feel from my own mother and which I want to pass on to my own child.
It represents the people longing for a baby as I did for so long and anyone who might not have a child of their own but has felt the magical love from their own mother.
It represents the cycle of life and death and the power of love in this life and on the other side.
The abstract surrounding the figures expresses the emotional energy which binds myself and my son and also the tiny dots express the 'magic' and protection I feel from my Mother who is watching over us'

Masterful biography and history of the birth of the Red Power movement.
Format: Hardcover
Kent Blansett has broken much new ground with his masterful biography of the charismatic Richard Oakes. The book is also an astute and insightful account of the birth and rise of the Red Power Movement and the occupation of Alcatraz.
Scholarly but written in an accessible style, this book will appeal to all readers.

Native American history at its best!
Format: Hardcover
Kent Blansett's engrossing story about the life & times of the famed Mohawk activist Richard Oakes is Native American history at its best. I appreciated the well-written context provided about the birth, growth and impact of the Red Power Movement and the pivotal role that social justice activism played in the rise of modern Indian nations in the United States today. This scholarly work helps us understand modern Native America and is a "must-read" for every Native American Studies student and scholar, as well as readers interested in important American social justice movements.
