The camera’s light meter functions correctly, and all buttons, dials, controls, and shutter functions operate as intended. The body is in good cosmetic condition with normal signs of use consistent with age while remaining well preserved overall.
The paired Canon FL 135mm f/2.5 lens has been inspected and cleaned by CPB Darkroom and is in excellent working condition. The optics are in very good condition, with only minute specks of internal dust and a small scratch on one of the lens elements that does not significantly affect practical image quality. The focus and aperture rings operate smoothly and accurately, and the lens body shows only very minor signs of use.
The Canon A-1 is one of the most celebrated film SLRs ever produced, offering a complete range of exposure modes including Program, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, and Full Manual control. Paired with the fast Canon FL 135mm f/2.5 telephoto lens, this setup is particularly well suited for portraiture, nature photography, stage performances, sports, and any situation where strong subject isolation is desired.
