Setelah sembilan tahun pengembangan, Sony telah memperbarui lensa zoom telefoto andalannya dengan FE 70-200mm f/4 Macro G OSS II , memperkenalkan peningkatan kinerja dalam autofokus, stabilisasi, pembesaran, dan ketajaman sekaligus mengurangi panjang dan ukurannya. Tetap menjadi andalan portabel untuk penggunaan sehari-hari dalam acara, olahraga, dan potret, iterasi terbaru ini memperluas kemampuannya ke aplikasi video dan makro.

Peningkatan Kinerja Optik

Perubahan terbesar pada desain optik lensa ini adalah pengenalan elemen fokus mengambang, yang memungkinkan pembesaran "setengah makro" 0,5x beresolusi tinggi, memperkecil jarak fokus minimum menjadi 10,2" pada 70mm. Resolusi yang meningkat ini tersedia di seluruh rentang zoom, begitu pula ketajaman lensa yang lebih baik dari sudut ke sudut. Sistem autofokus baru ini beroperasi hampir tanpa suara sekaligus secara dramatis mengurangi pergeseran fokus dan perubahan fokus. Sistem Linear Response MF memastikan pengoperasian yang konsisten dan terasa alami, sementara fitur Direct Manual Focus (DMF) penuh waktu memudahkan penyesuaian cepat menggunakan cincin fokus saat dalam mode AF.

Didesain Ulang untuk Portabilitas dan Ketahanan

Dalam mendesain ulang lensa 70-200mm f/4 II, Sony telah mempertimbangkan daya tahan lensa dan penggunanya, mengurangi panjang dan berat optik masing-masing sebesar 15% menjadi 5,8 inci dan 1,7 pon. Kompatibilitas Telekonverter

Lensa FE 70-200mm f/4 GM OSS II kompatibel dengan telekonverter FE 1.4x dan 2.0x opsional dari Sony. Telekonverter ini memungkinkan fotografi makro ukuran sebenarnya, 1:1 di seluruh rentang zoom. Saat digunakan, telekonverter 1.4x dan 2.0x akan memberikan panjang fokus dan aperture efektif masing-masing 98-280mm f/5.6 dan 140-400mm f/8.
