The Babadul LED Floor Lamp was designed by Ingo Maurer for his own lighting label. A free-standing LED lamp, it will be an excellent, and elegant, addition to homes or professional spaces of all kinds.
Maurer is a European design legend. Born in Germany in 1932, he has been at the forefront of integrating energy-efficient LEDs into high-quality lighting products. But he has coupled this technical focus with an exuberant sense of imagination, always blending artistic flair with function to achieve remarkable results.
The Babadul LED Floor Lamp is one of his more recent creations, and it maintains Maurer's track record. As the designer describes it, the Babadul lamp is both a practical floor lamp and a "light object". The delicate curves of the Japanese paper diffuser create a magical, other-worldly effect, and the lamp seems to float in the air above a 130cm-long slender metal spine. The ghost-like 30 x 20 cm diffuser is composed from robust but lightweight silicone for the frame and illuminated by an efficiently cooled 9W LED bulb. So the Babadul lamp will be durable, reliable and beautiful in equal measure. In other words, it's a typical Inigo Maurer masterpiece.
