Leaving the carpark, we pass the ever impressive Obelisk before turning right and heading towards Coneysthorpe, (great caution needed here as we hit a section of road for about mile). The route then follows the bridleway to Bog Hall,

Situated in the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding National Beauty, this trail encompasses everything magnificent about the Yorkshire countryside, a host of ancient monuments, bubbling brooks and ancient woodland.

Leaving the carpark, we pass the ever-impressive Obelisk before turning right and heading towards Coneysthorpe, (great caution needed here as we hit a section of road for about ½ mile).

The route then follows the bridleway to Bog Hall, between Bog Hall and Low Gaterley you can see the splendid Mausoleum (circa 1726) dominating the landscape, leaving the bridleway we join the Centenary Way and head off towards the Gate House but not before passing the Pyramid built in 1728, hollow inside and contains a huge bust of Lord William Howard. To the right you get a splendid panoramic view of Castle Howard, before heading back through the treeline to the courtyard and well-earned refreshments.
