6-panel cotton chino cap

1. You allowed a Woman twice your Age to buy you a ‘nightcap’ at the Leopard Lounge

2. You were always the first customer at Main Street News on Sunday mornings to buy 10 lbs. of newsprint … the NYT, the PB Post and the Shiny Sheet …

3. You only crossed the bridge to WPB to go to the airport, Good Sam or Roosters …

4. You could park your car on the 200 block of Brazilian Ave for 10 days while you flew to the real Brazil for a face lift, and the car was still there with nary a ticket when you returned with a new face having memorized the new word obrigado…

5. You found yourself in a bathroom stall at Au Bar with a ‘friend’….

6. You could call the Fire Department and ask them to send over two good looking men in uniform to douse the embers in the Weber Kettle out by the pool …

7. You were always found at Testa’s on lobster night with a bib around your neck and a G&T in your hand…

8. You lost a shoe overboard on a boat tied up at the PB Docks at 3 in the morning…

9. You put up your husband's grandkids at the Brazilian Court because you could never remember their names and you ‘don’t do room service’…

10. You paid your breakfast tab at Hamburger Heaven with a personal check…

10+1 bonus on May 1st you called the Post Office when it was really the Post Office at the foot of Main Street when it really was Main Street and asked them to forward your mail for the Summer … and they knew without asking whether it was to go to Southampton, Newport or Harbor Springs….

Weight Gain??
These pills are a great buy considering the ingredients aside from the coloring. Has anyone else experienced weight gain?? I'm trying to figure out if it's these vitamins or the other vitamins I'm taking.

The transformative power of stories, not checklists
Format: Hardcover
As someone familiar with previous writings from Keller and Inazu, I was eager to get this book--it did not disappoint. Both gentlemen are serious scholars, so one might have expected a weighty or dense theological treatise. Instead, they oriented the project around stories--individual stories that faithfully reflect personal versions of the grand Story of redemption, hope, beauty, truth, and justice. Rather than offering long lists of direct recommendations to other people (whose contexts will inevitably be different), these stories target the soul. As such, these stories offer vivid and practical insights to my particular context, but they do so indirectly, authentically, and inspirationally. As Keller has written elsewhere, no one changes his behavior because he's told he needs to change--he must be SHOWN. This book doesn't just tell us what authentic Christianity looks like in our polarized world, it shows us--and it does so exceptionally well. Highly recommended if you want to challenge your soul with diverse renderings of faithful living. Direct application to your life and specific recommendations for action will no doubt emerge, but they'll come from the inspiration of the Holy Spirit working through the power of Story.

So helpful and inspiring, too
Format: Hardcover
I bought both a hard copy and listened to it on Audible. As someone who is seeking to live faithfully in a world of difference in my workplace and community, this was an incredibly helpful book. I also can't help but think just how perfect this book is for our moment of national reckoning around race. NOW more than ever, folks need to read this book! I found myself weeping during Tom Lin's chapter, as I found resonance in my own experience growing up in an immigrant family, and I found myself incredibly inspired through that and so many other chapters as well. Other reviewers have critiqued the lack of specificity...for me, that was helpful, because everyone's context is so different. I was still able to take away what I needed. These are very thoughtful believers who come from very different walks of life, and it was a treat just to see the world from their view each chapter. Thank you, John Inazu and Tim Keller, for the rich contribution of this book to the Christian conversation about our place in the public sphere.

Great Book
Format: Paperback
I am reading this book for our Sabbath school study. Great reading. Submissions are made by real people trying to live right in a wrong, so wrong world. Very applicable to real life.
