Technics SL-1200GME Master Edition Direct Drive Turntable (Silver) at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The Technics SL-1200GME is the Master Edition of the legendary SL-1200G, available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Commemorating Technics' 60th anniversary, the SL-1200GME represents the final and most advanced iteration of the beloved SL-1200G and SL-1210G series — a limited worldwide production run of 1,200 units in Silver and 1,210 units in Black. Every innovation developed over the last decade of Technics engineering has been incorporated into this single model: a reworked coreless direct drive motor with Reference Class stator board reinforcement, an upgraded Delta Sigma Drive system with a PWM carrier frequency raised above 20 kHz, a Hybrid Encoder for rotational speed detection, and the Multi-Stage Silent Power Supply derived from the reference SL-1000R. When production ends, no further units will be made. The SL-1200GME is the definitive SL-1200G, and it will not come again.

The Culmination of a Legend

The SL-1200 has been the world's most trusted direct drive turntable since its introduction in 1972, used in broadcast stations, mastering studios, and serious listening rooms across every decade since. The SL-1200G, launched in 2016, brought the platform to a new level of audiophile precision. The SL-1200GME takes every improvement made since 2016 and applies it simultaneously for the first time. The coreless direct drive motor has been reworked with a reinforced stator board using non-magnetic screws, following the same reinforcement pattern as the Reference Class SP-10R and SL-1000R. The Delta Sigma Drive's PWM carrier frequency has been expanded from approximately 2 kHz to over 20 kHz, pushing motor-generated micro-vibrations entirely out of the audible range. A Hybrid Encoder using a Hall Sensor for rotor position detection maintains rock-solid rotational speed stability even under the influence of warped records or stylus drag variation. The result is wow and flutter of 0.025% W.R.M.S. from a fully integrated turntable system that includes a tonearm, headshell, and all accessories.

Vibration Resistance from Every Angle

The SL-1200GME's three-layer platter combines a rigidly bonded brass and aluminium die-cast construction with deadening rubber covering the entire rear surface. Its rotational inertial mass surpasses the SP-10MK2, the direct drive standard of professional broadcast stations for decades, and is more than twice the inertial mass of the SL-1200MK5. Every unit is individually balanced on high-precision factory equipment after assembly and labelled with a BALANCED sticker confirming the adjustment. The four-layer cabinet — aluminium die-cast, BMC, heavyweight rubber, and a 10 mm hairline-finished aluminium top panel — provides exceptional rigidity and a surface quality worthy of a limited edition. Newly developed zinc insulators using αGEL gelatinous material provide high vibration damping and minimise acoustic feedback from the listening environment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Technics SL-1200GME?

The Technics SL-1200GME is the Master Edition final version of the SL-1200G, released to commemorate Technics' 60th anniversary. It incorporates all innovations developed over the last decade of Technics engineering into a single limited edition model, including a Reference Class reinforced coreless motor, upgraded Delta Sigma Drive with PWM frequency above 20 kHz, Hybrid Encoder speed detection, individually factory-balanced platter, and the Multi-Stage Silent Power Supply from the reference SL-1000R. Production is limited to 1,200 Silver units and 1,210 Black units worldwide.

How does the SL-1200GME differ from the standard SL-1200G?

The GME builds on the SL-1200G with three key upgrades: the coreless motor's stator board is reinforced with non-magnetic screws using the same pattern as the Reference Class SP-10R, the Delta Sigma Drive's PWM carrier frequency is raised from approximately 2 kHz to over 20 kHz for further micro-vibration suppression, and a Hybrid Encoder with Hall Sensor has been added for real-time rotational speed correction. Every GME unit is also individually factory-balanced after assembly, and the model features exclusive gold design accents.

Will the Technics SL-1200G continue to be made after the GME?

No. The SL-1200GME is the final version of the SL-1200G and SL-1210G series. Production will end once the limited run is complete due to the discontinuation of certain externally sourced components. Other SL-1200 models including the SL-1200GR2 and SL-1200MK7 will continue to be produced.

Does the Technics SL-1200GME include a cartridge?

No. The SL-1200GME includes a headshell but does not include a cartridge. It is compatible with cartridges weighing 5.6 to 12.0 g without the auxiliary weight, up to 16.4 g with the small auxiliary weight, and up to 19.8 g with the large auxiliary weight. Contact Vinyl Sound Toronto for cartridge pairing recommendations suited to your phono stage and listening preferences.

Does the Technics SL-1200GME require an external phono preamplifier?

Yes. The SL-1200GME outputs a standard PHONO-level signal via a single RCA output and includes an earth terminal. An external phono preamplifier compatible with your chosen cartridge type is required. Contact Vinyl Sound Toronto for phono stage recommendations to match the GME.

How stable is the speed on the Technics SL-1200GME?

The SL-1200GME achieves wow and flutter of 0.025% W.R.M.S. from a complete integrated system including tonearm and all accessories. The Hybrid Encoder with Hall Sensor continuously monitors rotor position and corrects speed in real time, maintaining stability even with warped records or varying stylus drag, making it one of the most speed-stable integrated turntable systems available.

Where can I buy the Technics SL-1200GME in Toronto or Canada?

The Technics SL-1200GME is available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Given the strictly limited worldwide production of 1,200 Silver units, availability is extremely limited. Contact us immediately to confirm stock and secure your unit before production ends.

Take a jaunt to Tintar, a city of blue abalones and black stone set above the angry sea...
Format: Paperback
Edie is a clever, gutsy heroine, who is lucky to be surrounded by a crew of likewise interesting ladies. Their tender moments in the bath and at the bar alike were very lovely, and the themes of female friendship were refreshing. My favorite parts had to do with the magic of this world, which is very novel. Often there's elemental magic, earth gets the short end of the stick. Not so here. The power of earth in this seaside landscape cannot be underestimated, and I really enjoyed that twist. Earth signs, at least, will rejoice in seeing their element treated with real consideration. All of the scenes of magic and old gods were A+, and I loved the weirdness of the rocks first coming to her in the forest, then erupting from the ground to let her know without a doubt what her strength was, and finally forming majestic creatures to rescue her new home—all based on the women who had supported and loved her. The final conflict was excellent. There was a real sense that Edie was going to sacrifice something that she did not want to let go of, which you don't get that often. (Plus, it was pretty funny when a certain someone got tossed over a wall.) Finally, given the themes of womanhood in this book, I am going to pull a word from the big reviewers' lexicon and say that this book is /timely/. What it says about what women are and are not, how it explores Edie's feelings about her body, were thoughtful and illuminating and, yes, timely and given the political climate we are now in—I will even add /necessary/ to that list. It's a rich, femme-centric fantasy epic that made me think about womanhood (and motherhood) in a new light.

Woman's experience and the power of female friendships
Format: Kindle
This story was amazing, and had several elements currently lacking from the genre. It was mature, wise, experienced, and empathetic. It was wonderfully representative of women's experience, with the bonds and friendships between them serving as the balm for life's hurts. **Spoiler alert/warning: Reynolds tackled SA, infertility, teenage pregnancy, and more. Her representation of infertility is the most true-to-form capture of that awful journey that I've ever seen in literature (AND it wasn't "cured" by the love of the "right" man - something that drives me crazy in 99.99999% of stories that try to touch on infertility). She even included the realness of the older infertile woman's response to the teenage pregnancy in a raw and unfiltered way. Another review said it but I'll back it up: Kara knows. And she shows you that she knows. Thank you for your empathetic writing, Kara Reynolds. Thank you for seeing women and our experiences and representing us on the page. I was touched, moved, inspired, and comforted by the power of female friendships and found family. The romance was gorgeous, even in its predictability. Because it was clear that the true loves of her life were those enduring women who walked life alongside her. Amazing story.

Girl a struggle that I couldn't not finish.
Format: Kindle
Keep writing Kara girl. Maybe shorten something. But I enjoyed the story. I did not enjoy the uncertainty because it was never uncertain. I enjoy the story though.

OUTSTANDING
Format: Kindle
This was very, very good. The world is vast and characters are complex. There is a good plot with a whole lot going on. This is well written. Good twists and turns and some heart breaking moments. You will love these characters, they have heart and loyalty. I am hoping that there will be several more books. We've yet to see anything from the Sea Court but only a mention of them here and there. The Wood Court was given a quick couple of scenes, and only as far as some warriors, we've yet to enter their court and the Shadow Court, I'm not sure if they will be a force for good or bad, but they definitely will play a much bigger role moving forward. This is primarily the Ice and Air Courts. Told in multiple views, which I loved, it gives you a chance to see things from different eyes. There's alot of political maneuvering and deception. I loved it and will pick up the next book as it becomes available. If you like The Fae and the courts, you should love this. I think the author has mucn in store for us.

Definitely worth the read!
Format: Kindle
After taking a deep breath and taking in that wicked twist of an ending, I have finally composed myself. My first thought when I started this book was that I love Reyna's character. I was intrigued by her connection with her familiar and the Ruin that is plaguing her land. It came as no surprise that she took her sister's place in an attempt to protect her. When they reach the Air Court everything slows down. This is where it was iffy for me. First of all, I like multiple POV's in books however 7 is a bit much. It starts to interrupt the story line. I felt like I was finally making progress connecting with one character, then it was switched to another person. I felt they all had necessary or pertinent information but not necessarily were they all POV worthy. The only other thing that annoyed me was that Reyna constantly was " trapped." She would rush off without thinking, only to need rescuing. She is brilliant in a fight, but she really doesn't think through anything. Lorcan is amazing. I know he might be on the "bad" list, but his background is so interesting. Eislyn(Reyna's sister) is really so sweet, but calculating. I enjoyed her and Thane's dialogue. The author did an amazing job with the imagery in this book. Everything was so detailed it was easy to fall into the scene. I love unexpected twists and while part of the ending I expected, I wasn't expecting how it took place. All in all, I found it very entertaining and I am very invested in continuing this series. Favorite quotes: "The truth may be twisted but never false." "Who was she if she was not the enemy of the Air Court? What was her purpose of she no longer has that?" "In a war-torn land, love was always a lie."
