It is transferable. Depending which application method you chose to use. Neither will lessen the effect.
Can this be done with a pen or does it have to be a sharpie?
With the gimmicks received, a sharpie. But once you learn the ins and outs to it, you can apply the concept to other objects. On the tutorial I teach a few handling using a pack of polo mints and silks too.
