Speedsil 2000 (Concentrate) is a high-performance injection fluid used to install a chemical damp proof course (DPC) in masonry. Suitable for all types of pressure injection DPC work, it is a water-based system designed to deliver solvent-based performance while remaining odourless, non-flammable and non-staining.

Key Features

  • Water based with solvent performance.
  • Out performs siliconates and micros.
  • Non-corrosive to equipment.
  • Diluted material stable for 6 months.
  • Low alkalinity for safer working conditions.
  • Fast cure to help prevent dissipation.
  • Non-staining or salting.
  • Odourless and non-flammable.

Typical Applications

  • Injecting a chemical DPC to help control rising damp in masonry walls.
  • Pressure injection DPC work where an aqueous (water-based) solution is preferred.

How It Works

When mixed with water, Speedsil 2000 forms an aqueous solution designed for chemical DPC use. Based on a multi-functional siloxane, it cross-links after application to waterproof a wide range of masonry materials. It forms a true solution in water for maximum penetration and works by lining the pores/capillaries of the substrate to create a barrier against rising damp.

Preparation & Application

  • External prep: Remove porous/damaged plinths and cut external rendering back above the proposed DPC line. Lower external ground levels where possible, and protect plants/paths/glass from spills (wipe up immediately).
  • Internal prep: Remove skirtings (treat and reuse if sound). Remove plaster to at least 1m high or 300mm above the last evidence of damp/salts (whichever is higher). Remove timber fixing grounds and rake out mortar beds 10–15mm ready for replastering.

Drilling Guidance (Brickwork)

  • Select the injection line not less than 150mm above external ground level. Internally, aim as close as possible to floor level on solid floors; with suspended timber floors, inject below joists/wall plates where possible.
  • Drill two 10–14mm holes at a slight downward angle to approx 2/3 depth of the brick (or through to terminate in a mortar bed where mortar joint injection is required).
  • Hole spacing: do not exceed 170mm between holes.
  • 115mm walls: drill from one side only.
  • 225mm walls: drill from each side, or drill ~75mm, inject, then drill a further ~100mm and inject again.

Injection, Mixing & Finishing

  • Walls over 225mm: drill in a stepped manner (preferably from both sides). Cavity walls: treat each leaf as a separate wall. For very damp walls, consider two rows of holes.
  • Injection pressure: inject at low pressure 5–50 psi (vary to suit site conditions). Inject until fluid begins to be visible in mortar beds, ensuring sufficient fluid enters the wall.
  • Mixing: clean the injection pump thoroughly before use. Always add Speedsil 2000 to the water. Dilute 1 part Speedsil 2000 with 4 parts clean water (by volume). 5L concentrate makes 25L ready-to-use product.
  • Finishing: plug external DPC holes with strong cement/sand mortar or plastic plugs. Leave walls as long as possible before replastering.

Coverage

Coverage depends on masonry type and thickness. A useful rule of thumb is 2.5L of fluid per 1 metre of 230mm (9") thick wall.

Aftercare (Replastering & Decoration)

  • Replastering must be carried out in accordance with the Biokil Crown Replastering Specification.
  • After replastering, decorations should be regarded as temporary for 9–12 months. Use a non-vinyl based emulsion during this period and avoid vinyl paints and woodchip-type wallpapers.
  • Maintain good air circulation around damp-proofed, replastered walls.

Cleaning

  • Clean spills/runs/residue while wet using detergent and water.
  • Dried residue may require methylated spirits.
  • Always clean equipment immediately after use with detergent and water.

Storage & Shelf Life

  • Store in dry conditions.
  • Diluted material may be kept for 6 months.
  • Undiluted Speedsil 2000 may be stored for up to 2 years.

Safety

  • Read the product label and MSDS before use.
  • Concentrate: risk of serious eye damage — wear eye/face protection when diluting (diluted product is not classified).
  • If product contacts eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
  • Keep out of reach of children.

I loved it so much!!!
Format: Kindle
I've had this one on my TBR lis forever and been meaning to get to it. Considering I picked up the ebook last year not long after it came out. I can't believe I let this one sit on my kindle for as long as I did. I ended up starting and finishing in just one afternoon absolutely hooked on Avery and Knox. They has this connection that just works even if they are to stubborn to see what's happening. I loved the whole bad buy meets the good girl in this sweet steamy enemies to lovers romance. The author does a beautiful job creating a captivating story with characters you can't help falling in love with. This is my first book by the author and I'm a fan as I enjoyed every moment of Avery and Knox's story. I loved that we get to know a little bit of Knox's brothers as the series is about them and can't wait to devour there stories too. Highly recommend the characters are engaging and the story is perfectly balanced with just the right amount of romance. This one made me want to look up the riding that Knox did off season and it's impressive. I loved it!!! One of my favorite books of 2025.

Good Sports Romance
Format: Kindle
Knox is a motor cross racer and Avery is a gymnast. Seems like opposites, right? But there is much more common ground. This couple is fantastic together and love the friends and family vibes. Can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the Holland Brothers series and go back to read Hendrick and Jane’s story.

Holland Brothers Series !!!
Format: Kindle
5/5 ⭐️ 2/5 🌶️ A Holland Brothers Series was exactly what i was hoping for since i read Tempting the Player. Rebecca gave us all exactly what we wanted a Holland brother series and kicked it off with Knox. Knox is the broody, grumpy, closed off, and the 2nd oldest brother who stepped up and held down the fort taking care of the younger brothers after their mom passed and dad stopped coming around but gave up his dreams/ wants in order to do so. With Hendrix, the oldest brother from TTP, back home Knox can go live out his dream as a pro motocross rider. After something goes down between him and his teammate, he’s left without a team and ends up back home and ends up asking the help of a friend of a friend to train him who is Avery. Avery is a college gymnast with two Olympic medals and last season she choked and injured herself before she was able to compete. She’s doesn’t want a distraction but agrees to train Knox which should be easy but it turns out to be anything but that. The banter and argue and then everything changing when his shirt comes off and she spends a little too much time admiring his body in a handstand. These two balanced each other out so well it’s hard to deny even to them. Overall i loved the plot and the character development between these two, the spice, the banter, the nicknames it was all just …..chefs kiss 💋. I cant wait to see which Holland brother Rebecca has in store for us next! 🏍️ Sports Romance 👑 Opposites Attract 🏍️Enemies to Lovers 👑 Train Together 🏍️ Banter 👑 Motorcross x Gymnast 🏍️ Bad Boy x Good Girl

An enjoyable new series with promise
Format: Mass Market Paperback
This is the first in a series. I have already ordered the next one so I like it. The main character Charlie Harris is a widowed library archivist. He lives in his late aunt's house and takes in borders and he owns a Maine coon large cat named Diesel. This is already a somewhat unusual cozy mystery because the main character and devoted cat owner is male. Charlie is a very personable character. He loved his wife (she died of cancer) and his late Aunt. He has 2 grown-up children that he cares about and he likes his job. He gets involved in a murder because his boarder, a young college, student is involved. His archival skills come in handy in providing clues to the murder. The deputy in charge of the investigation is the daughter of his long-time housekeeper. I didn't peek ahead to see who-did-it and I enjoyed the story til the end.. I don't think it's the type of mystery where all the clues are available and the reader tries to figure it out. The reader gets the clues as Charlie . gets them and finds out who the murderer is when Charlie finds out. Yet, the characters are engaging, the setting is interesting and it is a fast and enjoyable read. The plot is credible I like it.
