**A Telegraph Best History Book of 2023*'An astonishing achievement' ANTONY BEEVORAn intimate history of the most important month of the Second World War as experienced by those who lived through it, completely based on their diaries, letters and memoirs. At the beginning of November 1942, it looked as if the Axis powers could win the war; at the end of that month, it was obviously just a matter of time before they would lose. In between came el-Alamein, Guadalcanal, the French North Africa landings, the Japanese retreat in New Guinea, and the Soviet encirclement of the German 6th Army at Stalingrad. In this innovatively kaleidoscopic and riveting historical marvel, Peter Englund reduces these epoch-making events to their basic component: the individual experience. In thirty memorable days we meet characters including a Soviet infantryman at Stalingrad; an Italian truck driver in the North African desert; a partisan in the Belarussian forests; a machine gunner in a British bomber; a twelve-year-old girl in Shanghai; a university student in Paris; a housewife on Long Island; a prisoner in Treblinka; Albert Camus, Vasily Grossman, and Vera Brittain. We also witness the launch of SS James Oglethorpe; the fate of U-604, a German submarine; the building of the first nuclear reactor; and the making of Casablanca. Not since Englund's own The Beauty and the Sorrow has a book given us one of the most dramatic periods of human history in all its immensity and emotional range. A Noticeable Upgrade from Regular Soaps
Size: 3.5 Ounce (Pack of 6)
Leaves skin soft, smooth, and refreshed without dryness I’ve tried plenty of big retail soaps over the years, but this one stands out right away. The bar lathers nicely and leaves my skin feeling noticeably smoother and never dry, which is a huge improvement compared to what I used before. The scent is clean and subtle, not overpowering, so it works well for everyday use. I did expect the bar to be a little bigger, but it has held up better than I thought it would, making it worth the price—especially since I picked it up during a sale. Overall, this is a quality soap that feels more refined than the usual options, and I’ll definitely keep it in my rotation.

My son and I really enjoy this soap. Not an overpowering smell and it lasts a decent amount of time...unlike other soaps

Works well
Size: 3.5 Ounce (Pack of 6)
I just wanted to update my review as I have had more time to review the product. The presentation is well done and in a nice looking box. Initially it did not smell the best in the box but when it gets wet it has a mild smell that is pleasant. It has a great lather, the exfoliating beads feel good, and it does work well. Great product but the smell is mild.

Masculine Scent
Size: 3.5 Ounce (Pack of 6)
Purchased to try something new. Very good product, smells nice and cleans well. However the scent did not last as long as hoped during the day. On the other hand, if you use it just before a date, it will be just right.

Really wanted to like this soap
Size: 3.5 Ounce (Pack of 6)
I waited until I went through 5 of the 6 bars of soap in this pack. It was very well put together with each bar individually wrapped with a cellophane and a nice paper wrapper. The scent upon opening the box was pleasant. Sniffing each wrapped bar to get an idea of how they smelled left me a little skeptical. So here’s the pros and cons: PROS Small bars but they last a long time. 4 of the 6 are scrubbing bars, meaning they have exfoliating bits of walnut shells in them, which for me, blue collar worker, I really liked. Packaging is nice. CONS THEY ALL SMELL THE SAME! I don’t know why this is, but I can only attribute it to the packaging and them being so close together. Pretty disappointing. The walnut bits accumulate in the bottom of the tub and need to be rinsed down the drain. All in all, decent soap without any noticeable differences in smell. Good enough for one purchase, but I’ll be buying a different brand next time.
