Details: The brand new NR-2 series of pickups is Schatten's way of providing a really good sounding pickup that can be mounted quickly and easily to National style instruments without having to drill any holes when installing the passive versions. The NR-2 PRO passive pickup includes Schatten's innovative MVC Plus jack assembly, which simply adheres to the instrument and snuggles in right next to to the tailpiece. The low profile jack assembly is only 1/2" high and may be mounted either from a thin stand-off plate that adheres securely to the area under the tailpiece or may be mounted directly to the top with the included 3M VHB tape. The MVC Plus jack includes an integrated volume control for quick onboard volume changes. The entire system is completely non-invasive and can be removed if desired. The Schatten NR-2 PRO will work properly going into virtually any 'normal' electric guitar amp. However, use of a preamp either onboard the instrument (utilizing the Schatten Artist II endpin jack preamp) or outboard (using the Schatten Preamp/DI) is recommended for best results and more control over the sound. If you're plugging into a PA system or mixer board, then a preamp is going to be necessary. The Schatten NR-2 PRO installs very quickly - the sensing element attaches to the face of the saddle with 3M VHB tape (included) and the jack adheres to the body near the tailpiece. Everything is pre-wired, no soldering required. This pickup has excellent feedback resistance, and is very lightweight and will not alter the acoustic sound of the instrument. No modifications are necessary - the entire passive pickup system may be mounted without drilling any holes. Additional Information
