It maximizes battery life by combining ultra low supply currents and low dropout voltages. It has 200mA output current capability at up to +125C junction temperature. The MAX883 uses P channel MOSFET pass transistor to maintain low 11A (15A maximum) supply current from no load to the full 200mA output. Unlike earlier bipolar regulators, there are no PNP base current
The MAX883CSA+ is a low IQ, low dropout linear regulator in 8 pin NSOIC package. It maximizes battery life by combining ultra low supply currents and low dropout voltages. It has 200mA output current capability at up to +125°C junction temperature. The MAX883 uses P-channel MOSFET pass transistor to maintain low 11µA (15µA maximum) supply current from no load to the full 200mA output. Unlike earlier bipolar regulators, there are no PNP base current losses that increase with output current. In dropout, the MOSFET does not suffer from excessive base currents that occur when PNP transistors go into saturation. The MAX883 features shutdown (OFF) mode that turns off all circuitry by reducing supply current to less than 1µA. This device includes low battery detection comparator, foldback current limiting, reverse current protection and thermal overload protection.

- Internal 1.1ohm P-channel pass transistor draws no base current
- Low dropout voltage of 220mV at 200mA output current
- Load regulation of 60mV (IOUT = 1mA to 200mA) and line regulation of 10mV
- Foldback current limit of 170mA (VOUT < 0.8V) and 430mA (VOUT > 0.8V and VIN - VOUT > 0.7V)
- High power (1.5W) NSOIC package

I bought this for my daughter’s birthday and she absolutely loved it! The light pink color is exactly as shown in the pictures, really pretty. The keyboard feels comfortable to type on and she’s obsessed with the backlight colors. The pencil holder is a nice touch too, keeps everything neat. Definitely recommend! 🎀
