The Black Hills Designs RANGE-R card is the premier passive range finding solution.
The card gives off no thermal, IR, or SWIR signature and gives you the ability to range quickly and easily out to 600+ meters without the use of electronics/batteries or dependence on GPS. The subjects on the card (Men, Doors, Semi Trucks, IMF Shipping Containers, Ranch Fences and SUVs) are all selected based on common items around the world to ensure you can rangefind in any environment.
The flexible polymer card is perfectly sized for a pocket, binocular pack or GP pouch. At a weight of roughly half an ounce the card disappears effortlessly into your kit. It includes retention points as well as map scales around the edges.
Instructions:
Bite the end of the included 18” draw string and extend in front of sightline until tight. Start at the closest distance and shift target within its specific slot until it touches top and bottom of the curve to give the range. The card is graduated in meters, but has a direct conversion to yards in the center for quick translation.
