The Piña Coffee Table (part of the larger Piña collection) is a brilliant display of Hayon’s signature style—playful, organic, and sophisticated. The name "Piña" (Spanish for pineapple) refers to the intricate, woven steel rod structure that forms the base, mimicking the textured skin of the fruit. The table features a unique openwork frame made of steel rods. This creates a light, transparent look that prevents the piece from feeling heavy in a room. Depending on whether you want it for your living room or your patio, the top comes in two distinct materials: Best for indoor use, providing a warm, natural contrast to the steel. Specifically designed for the outdoor version, making it resistant to weather and wear. The steel frame is powder-coated (often in black or white), and for outdoor models, it undergoes a "cataphoretic" treatment to prevent rust. The Piña Coffee table is a "bridge" piece. It’s luxury furniture that doesn't take itself too seriously. Because of the wireframe base, the tabletop appears to "float." This is a great design trick for small apartments where you want to maximize the "visible floor space" to make the room feel larger.
