Kanto H1 Universal Headphone Stand with Curved Silicone Padding at Vinyl Sound Toronto Canada

The H1 is a universal desktop headphone stand from Kanto (Vancouver, Canada), available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Built from a slim solid steel frame with a 6-inch wide stabilizing base, the H1 stands 10 inches tall to accommodate the full range of on-ear and over-ear headphone sizes. Its contoured silicone cradle supports headbands up to 2 inches wide without leaving impressions on softer headband materials, while silicone padding on the base keeps the stand firmly in place on any desk surface. Available in matte black, silver, and white finishes, the H1 is designed to complement professional audio workstations, home office setups, and dedicated listening spaces.

Contoured Silicone Cradle for Headband Protection

Headphone storage is a frequently overlooked factor in headphone longevity. Resting a headset on a hard surface, a monitor edge, or an unpadded hook concentrates pressure on the headband at a single point, which over time causes permanent deformation, cracking of leather or synthetic padding, and stress fractures in plastic headband shells. The Kanto H1 addresses this with a contoured silicone cradle engineered to distribute the headphone's weight evenly across a curved contact surface. The silicone material is soft enough to prevent impressions forming in memory foam, leatherette, and alcantara headband coverings, yet firm enough to hold the headphone securely without slipping. The cradle accommodates headbands up to 2 inches wide, covering the majority of consumer and audiophile headphones from brands including Sennheiser, Sony, Beyerdynamic, Audeze, and Apple.

Steel Frame Construction and Base Stability

The H1's frame is fabricated from steel rod stock, providing a rigid and durable structure that holds up to 6.6 lbs without flex or lean. The slim profile of the steel frame occupies minimal desk footprint while the 6-inch wide base geometry provides a low center of gravity that resists tipping even when heavier planar magnetic or full-size dynamic headphones are placed on the cradle. Silicone padding bonded to the underside of the base prevents the stand from sliding on smooth desk surfaces during incidental contact, keeping the headphone stationary and within reach at all times. The combination of a wide base, steel construction, and non-slip silicone feet makes the H1 stable enough for permanent placement on a desk without the need for adhesive mounting or cable management anchoring.

Key Features

  • Contoured Silicone Cradle: A curved silicone headphone rest supports headbands up to 2 inches wide, distributing weight evenly to prevent impressions, cracking, or deformation of leather, leatherette, and foam headband materials.
  • 10-Inch Stand Height: The H1 measures 10 inches tall, providing sufficient clearance for the full range of on-ear and over-ear headphone sizes including large over-ear audiophile and studio models.
  • Slim Steel Frame: A steel rod frame combines structural rigidity with a minimal visual footprint, keeping the desk surface clear and uncluttered while ensuring the stand does not flex under load.
  • 6-Inch Wide Stabilizing Base: The wide base provides a low center of gravity and strong tip resistance, supporting headphones weighing up to 6.6 lbs without rocking or leaning.
  • Non-Slip Silicone Base Pads: Silicone padding on the underside of the base grips smooth desk surfaces to prevent sliding and keeps the stand securely positioned during daily use.
  • Three Finish Options: Available in matte black, silver, and white to match a wide range of desk aesthetics, workstation color schemes, and audio equipment finishes.
  • Universal Compatibility: Fits virtually all on-ear and over-ear headphone designs without brand-specific adapters or adjustments.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Kanto H1?

The Kanto H1 is a universal desktop headphone stand from Kanto (Vancouver, Canada), built from a slim steel frame with a contoured silicone cradle and a 6-inch wide non-slip base. It stands 10 inches tall, supports headbands up to 2 inches wide, and holds headphones weighing up to 6.6 lbs. The H1 is available in matte black, silver, and white finishes and is designed for on-ear and over-ear headphones across all brands and price categories.

How does the Kanto H1 compare to the Sennheiser HD 800 stand or Beyerdynamic headphone stands?

The Kanto H1 is a universal stand designed to work with headphones from any manufacturer, whereas the Sennheiser HD 800 stand and Beyerdynamic headphone stands are proprietary accessories sized and shaped for specific models within those product lines. The H1's contoured silicone cradle accommodates headbands up to 2 inches wide, making it compatible with flagship models from Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, Sony, Audeze, and Apple without brand-specific fitment concerns. Compared to generic acrylic or wooden headphone stands at a similar profile, the H1 adds silicone headband protection and a non-slip base that most budget alternatives omit.

Will the Kanto H1 leave marks or impressions on my headphone headband?

No, the H1's contoured silicone cradle is specifically designed to prevent impressions on headband materials including leatherette, memory foam, alcantara, and soft rubber coatings. The silicone distributes the headphone's weight across a curved contact surface rather than concentrating pressure at a single point, which is the primary cause of permanent deformation in softer headband materials. Users with particularly soft or delicate headband coverings on headphones from brands such as Audeze, Focal, or Dan Clark Audio can store their headphones on the H1 without concern about long-term material damage.

What headphone sizes and styles fit the Kanto H1?

The Kanto H1 fits any on-ear or over-ear headphone with a headband no wider than 2 inches. At 10 inches tall, the stand provides adequate clearance for large over-ear audiophile headphones such as the Sennheiser HD 600 series, Sony WH-1000XM5, Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro, and Apple AirPods Max, as well as compact on-ear designs. In-ear monitors and earbuds without a traditional headband are not suited to the H1's cradle design.

Is the Kanto H1 stable enough for heavier planar magnetic headphones?

Yes, the Kanto H1 supports up to 6.6 lbs (approximately 3 kg), which exceeds the weight of virtually all consumer planar magnetic headphones including the Audeze LCD-2 (approximately 2.3 lbs), HiFiMAN Arya (approximately 1.4 lbs), and Monoprice Monolith M1570. The 6-inch wide steel base provides a low center of gravity that resists tipping even with heavier headphones resting on the cradle, and the non-slip silicone base pads prevent the stand from shifting on the desk surface under the added load.

Where can I buy the Kanto H1 in Toronto or Canada?

The Kanto H1 universal headphone stand is available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada. Vinyl Sound is an authorized Kanto dealer stocking the H1 in all available finishes alongside the full Kanto speaker stand range, powered speakers, and audio accessories. The H1 can be purchased online through the Vinyl Sound Canada website with shipping available across Canada.

Does the Kanto H1 require any assembly?

The Kanto H1 requires minimal to no assembly and is ready to use shortly after unboxing. The steel frame and silicone cradle are pre-formed, and the stand can be placed on any desk surface immediately. No tools, screws, or adhesives are needed, making the H1 a straightforward addition to any desktop audio or workstation setup.

Which finish of the Kanto H1 should I choose for my setup?

The Kanto H1 is available in matte black, silver, and white to suit a range of desk and equipment aesthetics. Matte black pairs well with dark-themed workstations and black audio equipment from brands like Kanto, Sony, and Beyerdynamic. Silver complements aluminum-finish desks, Apple-centric setups, and silver or champagne-toned audio gear. White suits bright, minimal desk environments and pairs naturally with white headphones such as the Apple AirPods Max or white-finish Kanto speakers. All three finishes share the same dimensions, materials, and performance characteristics.

Fantastic art book. As good as the first one.
I love the Airbender animation series. I can still remember the strong nostalgia I had while watching the first episode of The Legend of Korra: Book 1 Air, recalling all the characters from the previous series, and watch how time has passed and given us a new generation to look upon. The Legend of Korra: Book 1 - Air, The Art of the Animated Series is a nice addition to that experience. It's as good as the first art book . The cover art is different from the original product image. It has Korra looking rather too serious. The book features development art from all the 12 episodes in Book One: Air. There are designs for the main characters, followed by the Republic City and its inhabitants and then we have art from each episode in order. Character designs form the bulk of the book. There's Korra in different outfits, including those from Pro-bending gear, and also the cute four-year-old Korra. There are lots of line art and also coloured versions for the characters. Other characters are Tenzin and his family, Lin Beifong, Amon, Katara, and about most of the characters that appear in the episodes. The environment art are beautiful. The buildings and sets have a mix of oriental, industrial and European style. The world has changed since Aang was the Avatar. You'll see some connection to the past, for example, with Avatar Aang Memorial Island. Overall, the world feels very different because it has evolved. My favourite piece is the aerial painting of Air Temple Island that appears towards the end. The last few pages have some pretty cool miscellaneous art, such as the classic Avatar characters in their adult form, and also other characters drawn in non-animation style. Throughout the book, commentary is provided by creators Michael Dante DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko and director Joaquin Dos Santos. They give illuminating insight to the designs and stories. Highly recommended to fans of the series, and those who like animation or character art. It's one of my 2013 favourite artbooks. (See more pictures of the book on my blog. Great companion book to a great "Book One!"
I really like that the creators have been so heavily involved in the comics and art books from Dark Horse, and as such, I want to own all of them after looking at this gem! The artwork is beautiful, and it's awesome reading little anecdotes from the series creators. Did you know that polar bear dogs are feared by the Water Tribes, but Korra met a lost cub when she was little and now she has Naga!? All of the notes add to the universe of the series and make you feel involved in the show. As a fan of the original series, I'm now a little older and can really appreciate the work that goes into entertaining people, so this book is exceptional at presenting that feeling. The book is separated into a few sections, focusing on early development, each episode of the first season, and extra artwork created for promotion such as the DVD cover. I love being able to look at the concept art and notes and then watch the series at home. I highly recommend grabbing the Blu-ray version of the series. It has audio commentaries for each episode, so you are really being thrown into the universe of The Legend of Korra! I highly recommend to everyone who is a fan of the series!

BEST ART BOOK (GREAT GIFT FOR Legend Of Korra FANS)
It is a beautiful book. It was everything I hoped for, but it was bigger than I expected. (I didn't see the measurements/size...oops) The artwork inside is incredible, the detail and effort that was put into this book is amazing. I am a huge Legend of Korra fan, so I was a little nervous when I bought the book. I had my doubts but when received it I was so pleased with it. I could not be happier with this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone considering it to either give to a friend or to buy for personal use.
