COURSE OVERVIEW:

Welcome to the Prevent & Avoid Plagiarism in Vocational Education course. This program is designed for trainers, assessors, compliance officers, and vocational education professionals who are responsible for upholding academic integrity and preventing academic dishonesty within the VET sector.

As the integrity of qualifications depends on the authenticity of learner evidence, this course focuses on understanding, identifying, managing, and reducing plagiarism across training and assessment practices.

The course begins by defining plagiarism and exploring the four primary ways that students may engage in it—whether intentional or unintentional. You will examine the psychological and motivational factors that contribute to plagiarism using frameworks such as the Expectancy-Value Model and Ajzen’s Theory of Planned Behaviour. These models highlight the strong link between a learner’s attitudes, awareness, and intentions, and how these influence their decision to plagiarise.

You will also explore the difference between deliberate and accidental plagiarism, the beliefs and values that influence behaviour, and the impact of plagiarism on learners, trainers, and the reputation of RTOs. The course highlights the institutional and educational risks associated with academic dishonesty, and why it is essential for RTOs to act decisively in preventing and responding to it.

A key section of the course focuses on strategies to minimise plagiaristic behaviour, including how to embed integrity expectations within the learning culture, how to create awareness of student responsibilities, and how to incorporate anti-plagiarism education into course orientation and ongoing delivery. You will learn how to explain quoting, summarising, and paraphrasing to students and support them in understanding how to use sources ethically.

In addition, the course details the responsibilities of both RTOs and students, the application of academic dishonesty policies, and how to respond to incidents of cheating and plagiarism with fairness and consistency. You will explore detection methods using both plagiarism detection software and manual strategies—such as reviewing formatting irregularities, monitoring for inconsistencies in language, and identifying mismatched references in hard copy submissions.

The course also provides guidance on how to integrate plagiarism policies into the assessment process, how to detect and report incidents through your Learning Management System (LMS), and how to maintain proper documentation in accordance with RTO compliance requirements.

By the end of this course, you will have a clear understanding of the causes and consequences of plagiarism in vocational education, how to effectively detect and address it, and how to promote a culture of academic honesty and personal responsibility—ensuring that all learners can demonstrate authentic, ethical, and meaningful achievement.

Bargain Espresso Machine Works Great
Color: Silver
Great espresso machine, and a bargain at only $100! Pulls perfect shots with a generous amount of crema. And, it comes with a high-quality tamper. Tips: When you first turn it on, remember to run the steam wand for a couple seconds to prime the system. Test/experiment with the grind to get it just right--40 seconds with my blade grinder is working for me.

Great Espresso Machine for Beginners
Color: Silver
Update: Milk teamer doesn't deliver the foam like at the first couple of days, and the espresso doesn't come with the crema any longer. Somehow the pressure goes above the espresso range, and I tried to decrease the amount of coffee, and no results. I am so disappointed. First thing that impressed me about this little espresso machine is how easy it to use. You can make a double espresso shot in literarily 1 minute. Second thing is size, the machine is pretty compact that you can place it anywhere in the kitchen without worrying about taking too much space. Also, it heats up quick, and the options are straightforward. The water tank is just the perfect size, which is excellent for me, and I don't have to refill water constantly. Performance-wise, it feels solid and does an excellent job making shots like what you'd expect in a cafe. The water pressure is just right, delivering this espresso shot without the extra acidity. The flowmeter regulates the water evenly which is great in making that creamy espresso. Something else to note, it's small and also quiet, which is big to me since the last one was making unnecessary noise every time I make a shot. Now, the milk frother is pretty decent, and create that foam you'd love to see in your cappuccino and latte. Overall, this is a pretty decent choice, and feels durable.

Nice upgrade 51mm for me
Color: Silver
This is my second 51mm machine. I never used the included handle or basket… I kept my existing HUGH IMS precision basket and bottomless portafilter. The temp and preinfusion are set and not adjustable but fine (reduced variables). I defeated the shut off by volume by setting higher than needed (wish that was easier to turn off). I like to manually shut off when I hit 30g on my scale. The machine will drip since there is not solenoid valve so I just pull the scale from the try when mouse tail breaks and drip starts. The steam wand and hot water dispenser is a massive upgrade (from Capresso EC50) and the real reason for my upgrade. I would have paid $50-100 more for the improvements listed… but I guess most people would not so this is about the best option for me with 51mm (keeping all the 51mm three lug portafilter stuff I own). 5 stars = for me and the price
