PRODUCT OVERVIEW:

What makes this product different?
The UHP2991 brings an architectural edge with its triangular geometric frame that interlocks around a clear seeded glass cone—an uncommon silhouette compared to typical pendant cylinders or globes. Its Olde Bronze finish adds depth and texture, contrasting with the airy glass. Crafted with a nod to industrial heritage, the slender steel framing echoes early factory lighting. Unlike smooth modern pendants, the seeded glass diffuses a warm, vintage glow that feels both rustic and elevated.

Why is this product worth the price?
The UHP2991 Rochdale pendant light justifies its price through a combination of distinctive design and quality construction. Its industrial-inspired geometric frame, crafted from steel and paired with seeded glass, offers a unique aesthetic echoed in positive reviews mentioning the "exactly what we were hoping for" look. This fixture's robust build, versatile hanging options, and compatibility with a variety of bulb styles make it a lasting investment, suitable for various interior design schemes from rustic to coastal. The Rochdale collection represents more than just illumination; it's an embodiment of style and enduring value.

What value does this product offer over similar options?
The UHP2991 evlolves ordinary evenings into intimate gatherings as its seeded glass diffuses light like candlelight through vintage windows, creating warmth that mass-produced pendants with their harsh, direct bulbs simply cannot match. While competitors rely on thin stamped steel that rattles and flexes, this Rochdale's substantial construction and architectural triangular framework bring museum-quality presence to your dining space. Urban Ambiance's UA Guarantee ensures this becomes an heirloom, not another disposable fixture destined for replacement.

COLLECTION DESCRIPTION:

The Rochdale collection showcases a simple yet stylish geometric design with a charming edge. The industrial design adopts a triangular pattern, the outer framework and inner glass following suit. The center stem descends into an enlarged casing that enters the dropping clear seeded glass as a socket. Outlining the tapered glass shade is a trio of slender frames emerging from the top casing and bulging out parallel to the glass. The frames are clasped at the bottom with tiny brackets attached to the base ring trim accent. The hollow base adds further depth to the vintage glow.Available in Brushed Nickel, Olde Bronze, Polished Nickel, and Charcoal as pendant lights.

Very short and very good
Format: eTextbook
I read this book or one similar to it my senior year in high school 1970. It absolutely caught my attention as a way to explain why the continents had separated from Gondwanaland. I really liked revisiting the theory in light of the advances made since then

I love VSI on Kindle
Format: eTextbook
The thing is they take a long time to read because of the look up feature. It's like reading a book in the Library of Congress.

Format: Paperback
There are few who are capable of telling the story of plate techtonics including critical details. Peter Molnar is one of those chosen few who can deliver such a story succinctly and precisely.

Very nice, but very short, book on the subject.
Format: Paperback
This is a very nice, but very short, book on the subject. I learned quite a bit and enough to delve into structural geology and related subjects.

Excellent 120 pages book on a complex subject.
Format: Paperback
I thought this was an excellent 120 pages book on a complex subject. It discusses a variety of subjects besides the title of plate tectonics and which are related to it: continental drift, oceanic seafloor spreading, fracture zones, subduction of tectonic plate edges, faulting, the creation of mountains and plateaus, earthquakes, volcanism, oceanic magnetic anomalies, and the locations of concentrated metallic ores. The text is accompanied by almost 40 sketches and diagrams elaborating on the discussions provided in the text. The book also introduces the grand concepts of Earth geology such as the mantle, lithosphere, and asthenosphere. It also provides a short history of the development of the concept of plate tectonics. Finally, the book provides specific detailed descriptions of the formation of major mountain ranges and plateaus such as the Himalayas, the Tibetan Plateau, Tien Shan, the Tarim Basin, the movement of Eastern Asia, the Andes, and the western US mountain ranges. It also gives a short description of the movement of India from the eastern edge of the African Plate to the Eurasian Plate over the past 90+ million years.
