About the Workshop:
This in-person beginner’s course on letterpress printing is taught by artist and CBA Instructor Amber Braverman.
In the workshop, students will learn the basics of hand typesetting, how to print on CBA's Vandercook presses, and the process of editioning. Braverman will teach the essentials of printing hand-set type like inking and impression and selecting typefaces and paper.
This class is ideal for those who wish to learn to print simple text-based projects on the Vandercooks such as business cards, correspondence cards, and/or poetry and prose.
Class size is limited to ensure an optimal student-to-teacher ratio. Register now before the remaining spots fill up!
Required Materials:
All staff, artists, students, and guests are required to show proof of vaccination upon entering CBA and must wear a mask covering the nose and mouth at all times. Please email [email protected] if you have any questions.

- Please wear closed-toed shoes and clothes that can get stained or dirty
All other materials and tools will be provided by CBA at no additional cost to the students.
About the Instructor
Amber Braverman is the proprietor of Post Editions, a letterpress studio focused on collaboration with artists and writers.
As an educator, Braverman hopes to share her passion for the craft of printmaking with her students. She has been teaching letterpress printing, image-making, and book forms at CBA since 2006.
She began her journey into the world of book arts from a young age and studied letterpress printmaking through apprenticeship and job printing. She currently resides in Garrison, New York.
