Origin and properties of the ingredients Wool wax is obtained from freshly shorn sheep’s wool that underwent a special process to remove any pesticide and herbicide residues. In order to be well dispersed in the water and to adhere to the fibres, the wool wax must be emulsified into fine droplets using olive-oil soap and sugar surfactant. Sugar, coconut oil and palm oil are the raw materials used to manufacture sugar surfactant. Olive soap results from the chemical reaction between olive oil and lye (alkaline solution). Olive oil is the best oil raw material for making mild lipid-replenishing plant-based soap. Its well-balanced composition of fatty acids, its healing balancing effect on the cardiovascular system, and the remarkable growth of the olive tree in a 7-year cycle are evidence of the special proximity and relationship of this oil to humans. Cetyl alcohol–obtained from palm oil – and the plant-based thickening agent enhance the emulsifying effect of sugar surfactant and olive oil soap.

Technical data Density: 20 °C approx. 0.99 g / cm³ 68 °F approx. 0.035 oz / in³ pH value: 20 °C, 5 g / litre  H₂O 68 °F, 0.18 oz / 34 fl oz US H₂O approx. 7–8

Instructions on the bottle:

Dosage for babies' woollen nappy pants: Dissolve 1-2 tbsp of Wool Care in hot water then fill with lukewarm water up to 1 litre. Leave the damp garment in this solution for 30-60mins, briefly rinse with clear lukewarm water and leave to dry on a towel.

Replenishing lanolin in woollen clothing: Dissolve 1 teaspoon of lanolin conditioner in 1 litre of lukewarm water. Continue as with the treatment for woollen overpants. Alternatively, the lanolin solution can also be sprayed onto the clothing. Wool Care can also be used in the washing machine. To do so, dissolve ½ teaspoonful of Wool Care in approx. 30–40 ml of hot water and pour the solution into the fabric softener compartment of the washing machine.

Replenishing lanolin in woollen overpants - more info: Wash woollen overpants with sonett or disana wool shampoo. Dissolve 2 tablespoons of lanolin care treatment in 1 litre of lukewarm water. Place the woollen overpants (inside out) in the lanolin solution and squeeze gently. Leave them only briefly in the lanolin solution before removing them. Gently squeeze out excess lanolin solution and press in a towel. Leave to dry in a shady spot. Do not place them in the sun or on the heater. No need to use extra lanolin on new woollen overpants as there is enough natural wax on the fibre. Simply wash them before first use without replenishing the lanolin afterwards.

Biodegradability The raw materials wool wax and cetyl alcohol are, in finely emulsified state, readily micro-biodegradable. Soap made from vegetable oils has one outstanding feature compared to all the other active washing substances, namely that, right after its use, it reacts chemically with the limescale always present in waste water, forming calcium soap, thus neutralising its effect on live organisms (primary degradation). The calcium soap is then, micro-organically, 100% degraded into carbon dioxide and water (secondary degradation). Despite the fact that during the manufacturing of sugar surfactants, constituents are being extracted from the plant-based raw materials starch, sugar, and fat, they remain completely intact in their chemical structure. For this reason it is so easy for the microorganisms to 100% decompose these surfactants into CO₂ und H₂O very rapidly. Soap, sugar surfactant, and cetyl alcohol are classified as being readily biodegradable according to OECD guidelines.

Suitable for septic tanks and filtration systems.

Good size, lasts a long time
Dog likes these. She has her moments when this is only chew toy she wants, and spends days gnawing on it. She likes these bacon and chicken flavors. I like the fact that there is no squeak. This is a good size for full size Aussie, and I also like that she doesn’t “throw” these at me, she lays on the couch or floor and chews. They help to keep her teeth clean from plaque and tartar, so to me they are very functional. This is 4th or 5th buy again, so I wouldn’t buy again if she didn’t like. It does take a while for her to chew to point of needing new, since I keep variety of chew toys for her.

Awesome!
**update: we have had this toy for over a year! I have found one other con. Once chewed if you step on it you will immediately drop to the floor in agonizing all encompassing pain or (my personal favorite) say every dirty curse word you have ever heard while clutching your destroyed instep. BUT even though this chewed bone is the demon child of a LEGO and a race car to step on my dogs still love it, still chew it and we haven’t had to replace it yet! I have an insane chewer where toys usually last us less than 24 hours. It has become almost impossible for us to keep up with toys because of how expensive it has become. This toy is not only insanely durable but she has not left it alone for the 3 days we’ve had it. I was concerned that being “chicken flavored” would mean stinky or sticky and I was very pleasantly surprised that it was neither! It doesn’t leave a stain once chewed, it doesn’t smell, and it doesn’t have a weird coating on it. The only con so far is that due to it being so durable and hard it makes a loud noise when dropped on the tile or hardwood which made her nervous toward it at first but now that she’s started working on it she could care less about the noise. Super happy with this purchase and will 100% buy more in various sizes for our other pups.

Quieter than most toys and my dog loves them
Color: Football, Size: One-Size
These footballs have saved my life. I think I’ve bought close to 10 at this point? And toys primarily living outside in Texas heat is the only reason I’ve had to buy so many. In general, they are pretty durable but will get cracked if you leave them in the sun. I have a German Shepherd who absolutely loves playing in the backyard but also takes his responsibilities as a guard dog very seriously so he barks a LOT while he is out there and unfortunately we live in the suburbs so I’m constantly bringing him inside that way he isn’t bothering the neighbors. That is, until I got this football. The grunts are pretty quiet which is a win in my book because my dog communicates by way of squeak toy. You might think I’m joking but if I have guests over and we are having a conversation, he comes in the room and squeaks his toys violently to participate in the discussion. For that reason, it takes me an hour to pick out a new toy at the store because I stand in the aisle squeaking every single once until I find one I think I can handle listening to 24/7. If you’re reading this review, you probably know that at a certain point, the squeaks can become unbearable. If that’s why you’re looking at this toy, you don’t have to read any further. Just buy it, you won’t regret it. That is reason enough for me to rate this 5 stars. But the story doesn’t end there. What I did not foresee was him also using this wonderful grunting football to communicate with the neighbors. Now instead of barking outside, he grabs one of these footballs and squeaks it for all he’s worth while bucking around in circles like a bull. He still does it after having broken the noise maker in the toys. He just loves them so much. Can I guarantee your dog will also take to squeaking this toy over barking? No. I didn’t do anything special to get him to do that, and I doubt I could train another dog to do so. Regardless, this toy has single handedly solved a lot of my dogs endearing but somewhat annoying habits in ways I could not have anticipated so maybe it’ll work for you too.

My dog's FAVORITE!
Color: Bunny (Red), Size: One-Size, Color: Bunny (Red), Size: One-Size
She goes through so many toys because she basically destroys them. This one the squeaker part broke after maybe a day or two but that's okay because she absolutely love this toy so much she wouldn't go anywhere without it. Even brought it with her on her walks which was completely a new thing. I hadn't seen her do that. She did not want to let it go. And she wanted to show it off to everyone. And when she gets upset when she is hanging out on the deck she will grab it to ease her anxiety. She also grabs it when she wants to show it off to other dogs. And she definitely wants to play tug of war with it as well which isn't a good idea. If you play tug of war it's going to come apart pretty easily. Other than that I would say it took about 3 weeks for it to rip apart. I'm on the fourth one in about 6 months. She still has the ones that are split in half. But anytime I bring back a new one she gets so unbelievably excited and carries it with her everywhere again
