DESCRIPTION
The 赤金刀 — Akagane Katana takes its name from akagane — the Japanese word for copper — a material that defines every aspect of this blade. The Damascus steel is treated through a baking gold process, producing a warm copper-rose patina across the entire blade surface. The rippling Damascus wave pattern shimmers beneath the gold tone, visible under any light.
The tsuba, habaki, fuchi, and kashira are all finished in solid baked gold — a fully unified metallic aesthetic from tip to pommel. The tsuka (handle) is wrapped in black ito over samegawa with ivory diamond-shaped menuki, providing strong visual contrast to the all-gold fittings and blade.
