The whistle charms serves as both an iconic piece of jewelry and also a useful call to action. This 18k gold version has a larger size and a substantial, loud whistle. It has a great design when looked at in profile, with a blocky shape, sharp curves, and geometric angularity. We love the large round bail, which has sharp edges and a shape that echos the cylinder form of the whistle. The bail and whistle complement each other well, and the bail can accommodate a larger chain or be clipped into a dog clip. This functional piece can be worn as a form of protection and power.
The whistle measures 1 1/4” x 5/8” x 5/8”, plus an additional 5/8” for the bail. It weighs 15.3 grams. The whistle is 18k; the bail is 14k. The whistle is marked 18k and acid tests as 18k; the bail is unmarked and acid tests as 14k. Circa 1980’s.

expands work space effectively
Initially it was a bit challenging to set up as I was not fortunate enough to have assistance (the instructions tell you that you need two people for part of the installation process). I also had to play around with placement a bit as my available installation space was extremely limited and neither of the listed/'suggested mounting situations worked for me; however, with some head-scratching and debating with myself, I finally figured how to make it work how and where I needed it it, and all was good!! It functions well, and holds adequate weight, and looks really good with the light lacquer finish...the only thing I will say to a potential buyer is to make sure you have room to walk past it easily when its closed down because it still sticks out a few inches even when closed down...overall, very happy with this item and would purchase again.

Great addition to my sewing table!
I ordered two of these to give me a little more room on my sewing table. One for the backside and one for the left side. Worked out great! Very sturdy and not hard to install (followed directions). I just extended when I need room and fold when not in use. I would recommend these to anyone who just needs a little more table/room.

Not very sturdy
The oak that this is made of is very nice. The little bit of extra counter space is nice. The problem is the bracket to hold it up is kind of small and flimsy, so the shelf won't bear much weight. It will be ok for putting light things on. Also had a problem getting it to hang flat in the down position.
