Known for his work on numerous films and games, mechanical concept artist Josh Nizzi brings new depth to iconic characters through the "Concept By Josh Nizzi" lineup. Now, Evangelion Unit-01 joins the series as a life-size bust. 

Three years after the release of the diorama reimagining Unit-01's first battle, this piece emerges as a spin-off that inherits the same core design concept as the previously released "Fourth Angel." While the earlier work focused on "motion" and "what has happened," this bust expresses "stillness" and "what is about to happen." Depicted in restraint, Unit-01 awaits deployment—rendered with intricate and dynamic craftsmanship at an imposing height of 86cm, reminiscent of a human torso. 

The commanding presence of Unit-01 and the surrounding human narratives are brought to life through meticulous sculpting and painting. From the multi-layered armor panels with varied sheens to the weathered textures and the organic gloss inside its open jaw, every detail enriches the upgraded scale with visual density. The shoulder pylons feature articulated mechanisms that allow for an open-and-close display, adding another layer of realism. Even the restraints and maintenance decks appear more worn than Unit-01 itself. Staff figures, stationed on two levels of the deck, each strike a pose that hints at their own story. At the base, gently rippling L.C.L silently evokes the world they inhabit. 

The built-in LED effects breathe subtle life into the quiet Unit-01. Yellow lights glow from its eyes, cool white glimmers along its shoulders, and a red hue filtered through the L.C.L stirs the viewer’s imagination. 

Also included in this Bonus Version is the Entry Plug—a special part that marks the moment of launch.
